Chapter 37
The next day, Phoebe made oatmeal and omelets for her group. Sienna, however, accidentally overslept and didnโt make breakfast. They decided to go to the helperโs place to eat.
Jamar had an IV drip last night, and today he was no longer throwing up or having diarrhea. But he looked weak and pale. So, Reece suggested that he rest in the yard.
Jamar propped himself up to see them off. Then he spotted Phoebeโs group enjoying their oatmeal and omelets, looking satisfied. He had no appetite at first, but the aroma of the oatmeal and omelets made him suddenly hungry. Phoebe didnโt even glance his way, let alone invite him to join. That stung even more. He suddenly remembered that while they were off having breakfast with villagers, he was left to fend for himself.
He felt a wave of disappointment wash over him, and he looked a bit lost, tugging at his fansโ heartstrings. Phoebe glanced at Jamar and silently cursed him for being so pathetic.
Sienna was used to being spoiled by her family and brothers, always taking without giving. She didnโt even think about how Jamar would be left hungry while they went out. But Jamarโs disappointment was none of Phoebeโs concern; she wasnโt going to worry about him now.
Reece noticed Jamarโs expression and asked, โHey, Jamar, didnโt your precious sister make you breakfast?โ He added for effect, โYou were up all night sick and got an IV, and she didnโt even make you some oatmeal! Didnโt she even keep you company while you were getting the drip?โ
This guy is getting more annoying by the minute: Jamar shot him a glare. โI just donโt have an appetite.โ
Reece continued pointedly, โNo appetite or not, you should still have some oatmeal to warm your stomach. For your sisterโs sake, you got sick, but she just left you hanging. Such deep sibling love, huh?โ
Phoebe must have had her fair share of trouble from Sienna while living in the Jenkins family. She had been criticized by Jamarโs family before, and now Reece was deliberately exposing Siennaโs sweet-sister image to see how it held up, and whether Jamarโs fans would find it awkward.
Jamarโs expression stiffened. Hearing Reece say that made Jamar wonder why Sienna hadnโt made him food. Does she really forget? Or does she just not care about me as a brother? In the past, when he had stomach issues, Phoebe would come all the way from the city just to make him food.
โNo, I canโt keep comparing,โ Jamar shot Reece a glare. โI said I donโt have an appetite.โ Then he quickly left the yard and headed back to his room, worried Reece would hurt him even more.
Jamarโs fans were feeling increasingly frustrated with Sienna because of Reeceโs comments, especially seeing Jamarโs pale and haggard appearance. [Marr looks terrible. How could Sienna not make him any food? He got an IV last night, and she didnโt even stay with him. Marr got sick because he wanted to eat her cooking. How can she do this?]
Iโm so disappointed in Sienna. Itโs always Marr giving, but she never seems to care much for him. [Yeah, Marr spoils her so much, and this is how she repays him? So selfish.]
Meanwhile, Sienna and her group went to help a family pack vegetables. While there, they asked if they could buy breakfast, and the family cooked them some spaghetti for free.
As Erika ate the steaming, decent-tasting spaghetti, she felt like crying.
Chapter 37
In the past, she wouldโve turned her nose up at such food, but now she was just grateful for a normal meal. She was scared of Sienna. She suddenly had an idea and looked at Sienna in front of the camera. โWeโre out here, and I wonder what Junar is eating in the yard. Should we ask the family to make him some spaghetti and send it to him?โ
Hearing this, Sienna finally realized she had forgotten to prepare breakfast for her brother. With servants at home, she had been exhausted yesterday and overslept this morning. She was too focused on how to perform well while working and overlooked her brother.
She cursed Erika in her mind for being so talkative. But on the surface, she acted like she knew what she was talking about. Jamar usually doesnโt eat breakfast after being sick like that. Heโll just throw it up again. No need to send him spaghetti. If he eats and throws up, heโll feel worse. Iโll ask them to make him some oatmeal at noon and send it over.
Of course, that was just an excuse to cover up her forgetfulness. Otherwise, they might get scolded by Jamarโs fans watching the live stream.
Erika wasnโt convinced but didnโt press the issue. โAlright then.โ
In the yard, Phoebe and her group were set to help a villager extractโฆ
After finishing breakfast and cleaning up, they prepared to head out. As Phoebe was leaving, she suggested to the director, โWith Jamarโs condition, he really needs something in his stomach. You should have someone make him some oatmeal.โ She wasnโt genuinely concerned for Jamar; she just wanted to contrast herself with Sienna.
Knowing Siennaโs personality, if someone brought up breakfast, sheโd definitely make excuses, claiming Jamar wouldnโt keep food down. Then Phoebe would expose her lies.
The director, not wanting any trouble with Jamar, agreed, โSure.โ He arranged for an assistant to make oatmeal. Once it was ready, the assistant brought it to Jamarโs room.
Feeling both nauseous and hungry, he gratefully accepted the oatmeal. He didnโt throw up again. When he heard the assistant mention that Phoebe had suggested they make oatmeal, he felt a mix of emotions. So, even when he was feeling terrible, he still craved someoneโs care. Hope blossomed in him. Phoebe still thinks of me as her brother when she asked the crew to make oatmeal for me?
After finishing the oatmeal, Jamar took his medicine and drifted off to sleep feeling better without any more nausea. This made the viewers watching the live stream think even less of Sienna. She had clearly forgotten to make oatmeal for Jamar and didnโt seem to care about his health. To cover herself, she even turned down Erikaโs offer to send spaghetti, despite Jamar pampering her so much.
Look at Jamar, he was clearly hungry. Otherwise, he wouldnโt have eaten two bowls of oatmeal. And after eating, he didnโt have any bad reactions. Instead, the oatmeal helped him take his medicine.
Jamarโs fans began to lose their affection for Sienna, feeling increasingly irritated by her actions. Her concern for Jamar was even less than Phoebeโs, who often clashed with Jamar. With this comparison, Jamar felt that the hurt he experienced was even greater. Not only did his fans express their disappointment with Siennaโฆ (The final sentence is incomplete and uncorrectable without further context).
