Freya had just picked up her coffee mug as Kieran pressed his hand down on it. With a swift move, Kieran flung the mug aside, shattering it to pieces. Kieran fumed. “Freya, you play hard, don’t you? Last night, I almost fell for your trick.”

“Mr. Sutton, what are you talking about? I’m lost here,” Freya gave Kieran an innocent look.

However, Kieran coldly replied, “You teamed up with Grandma to put on a show to ensure we were alone together and even had Ellie catch us in the act. All this for that two billion, right?”

Hearing Kieran’s words, Freya realized Kieran suspected the money she used to bail out her company came from Audrey.

“Mr. Sutton, you’re overthinking this,” Freya looked at Kieran earnestly and said, “Last night’s incident had nothing to do with me. And about that two billion in funding, I raised it myself. Audrey wasn’t involved at all.”

“You still want to lie?” Kieran’s gaze narrowed as he said, “I used to think you were just a little gold digger, but now, it seems your appetite is much bigger than I imagined.”

Saying so, Kieran moved closer to Freya. “How much did Grandma give you to go through all this trouble to set me up?”

Seeing Kieran closing the distance between them to a half-step, Freya instinctively stepped back and said, “Kieran, I don’t know how you’ve concocted this whole drama in your head, but I’ve said what I needed to. I don’t know what to say if you still think this way about me.”

Seeing Freya’s indifferent expression angered Kieran more. He scoffed, “So, you’re confident, huh? Confident that I can’t do anything to you?”

“Mr. Sutton, you are full of yourself. I haven’t been focusing on you at all. If it wasn’t for you not wanting to call off the engagement and letting Audrey interfere, we would’ve had nothing to do with each other by now.”

Hearing Freya’s words, Kieran’s expression turned icy.

Freya said, “I think it’s best if we go our separate ways. Once the current gossip about us dies down, we can find an excuse to call off the engagement, right?”

“So, you want to break off the engagement?” asked Kieran.

“Yes,” Freya didn’t hesitate to give her answer.

“Fine, let me tell you this,” Kieran enunciated each word, “In your dreams.” After saying that, Kieran gestured with his hand. “Come in!”

From outside, Jarrett led a group of people in. Freya frowned slightly.

Kieran ordered, “Pack up Ms. Dawson’s belongings.”

“Understood.”

“Kieran, this is my house!”

“It is your house.” Kieran sat on the couch, looking at ease, and said, “But while I’m here, what you say doesn’t matter.”

“You!”

“I guess all you have is that two billion. That won’t last you a month if I decide to take further action against the Dawson Group.” Hearing it, Freya’s gaze turned icy. “Kieran, I bear no grudge against you, and I’ve never planned to come between you and Eloise. You used to dislike me so much. Why target the Dawson Group now that I’m willing to break off the engagement?”

“Regardless, you are technically still my fiancée. You should have expected this day when you left Ellie’s birthday party in Ronan’s arms.” Kieran said coldly, “Ronan can protect you temporarily, but not forever. As long as you’re still my fiancée, you must fulfill your duties as the future Mrs. Sutton.”

“And what ‘duties’ are those? Cook and clean for you every day, follow you around like a shadow, and turn myself into the town’s laughingstock?” Freya scoffed, “That’s a maid’s duty, not mine. I was foolish once, but never again.”

Hearing this, Kieran’s expression grew colder. By then, the people upstairs had started to bring down the luggage.

Jarrett approached Kieran and said, “Mr. Sutton, everything is ready.”
