Chapter 82

โ€œUgh, gross!โ€ Freya shot Kieran a glare. โ€œSeriously, dude?โ€ With that, she flipped on the light in Kieranโ€™s room. But something was off about the light; it had been tampered with. The room was bathed in an eerie red glow when the light was on. Freyaโ€™s expression soured instantly at the sight. Kieranโ€™s eyes narrowed dangerously, clearly jumping to the wrong conclusion.

By then, Freya was starting to feel the effects of the overpowering scent in the air. She quickly pinpointed the source of the smell, doused the scented candle with water, and rushed to the window to throw it open. A gust of cold air swept through the room, clearing the lingering scent. Breathing in the fresh air, Freya finally felt her body relax slightly. Kieran, too, seemed to regain some clarity.

Aya looked over at Kieran, who was still on the bed, and said, โ€œListen, I had nothing to do with this mess.โ€

โ€œAnd for the record, I didnโ€™t set up any of this!โ€ Kieran frowned in response.

Freya continued, โ€œIโ€™m going to untie you now. You better go and take a cold shower. And if you lay a hand on me again, I swearโ€ฆโ€ She made a threatening snapping motion with her fingers.

Remembering Freyaโ€™s earlier defiance, Kieran looked even more sullen. โ€œIf youโ€™ve got that, Iโ€™ll let you go. If not, guess youโ€™re waiting for Jarrett to come and untie you in the morning.โ€

โ€œJust untie me.โ€ Kieran had regained a bit of his senses.

As Freya moved to untie him, he caught a whiff of her subtle perfume. Kieran stared at Freyaโ€™s profile, noticing a blush on her cheeks. Whether it was from the drug or not, he couldnโ€™t tell. But her face was undeniably captivating.

โ€œThere.โ€ Freya released Kieran. But then, driven by some sudden impulse, Kieran reached out for Freya the very next moment. Freyaโ€™s world spun, and pain shot through her lips. By the time she realized what had happened, her mouth was filled with the taste of blood. Pushing Kieran away, she retaliated with a slap.

Snap! The slap rang out clear and sharp. Kieran was stunned momentarily. When he finally snapped back to reality, he glared at Freya. โ€œYou dared to hit me?โ€

Freyaโ€™s expression darkened. โ€œKieran, you crossed the line. Donโ€™t you dare push me!โ€ Disgust was evident in her eyes.

Kieranโ€™s anger flared. โ€œMe? Over the line? Youโ€™ve hit me twice now. Whoโ€™s crossing the line here?โ€

Just then, they heard the front door open downstairs. Hearing this, Freya quickly covered Kieranโ€™s mouth. Kieran frowned deeply. The sound of someone coming upstairs was faint but growing closer.

Kieran grabbed Freyaโ€™s hand, gritting his teeth. โ€œFreyaโ€ฆโ€

Freya hushed, โ€œShh! Be quiet!โ€ The person was walking toward their room. In a split-second decision, Freya pinned Kieran down. Freya was on edge, her gaze fixed on the door.
