Chapter 82
โUgh, gross!โ Freya shot Kieran a glare. โSeriously, dude?โ With that, she flipped on the light in Kieranโs room. But something was off about the light; it had been tampered with. The room was bathed in an eerie red glow when the light was on. Freyaโs expression soured instantly at the sight. Kieranโs eyes narrowed dangerously, clearly jumping to the wrong conclusion.
By then, Freya was starting to feel the effects of the overpowering scent in the air. She quickly pinpointed the source of the smell, doused the scented candle with water, and rushed to the window to throw it open. A gust of cold air swept through the room, clearing the lingering scent. Breathing in the fresh air, Freya finally felt her body relax slightly. Kieran, too, seemed to regain some clarity.
Aya looked over at Kieran, who was still on the bed, and said, โListen, I had nothing to do with this mess.โ
โAnd for the record, I didnโt set up any of this!โ Kieran frowned in response.
Freya continued, โIโm going to untie you now. You better go and take a cold shower. And if you lay a hand on me again, I swearโฆโ She made a threatening snapping motion with her fingers.
Remembering Freyaโs earlier defiance, Kieran looked even more sullen. โIf youโve got that, Iโll let you go. If not, guess youโre waiting for Jarrett to come and untie you in the morning.โ
โJust untie me.โ Kieran had regained a bit of his senses.
As Freya moved to untie him, he caught a whiff of her subtle perfume. Kieran stared at Freyaโs profile, noticing a blush on her cheeks. Whether it was from the drug or not, he couldnโt tell. But her face was undeniably captivating.
โThere.โ Freya released Kieran. But then, driven by some sudden impulse, Kieran reached out for Freya the very next moment. Freyaโs world spun, and pain shot through her lips. By the time she realized what had happened, her mouth was filled with the taste of blood. Pushing Kieran away, she retaliated with a slap.
Snap! The slap rang out clear and sharp. Kieran was stunned momentarily. When he finally snapped back to reality, he glared at Freya. โYou dared to hit me?โ
Freyaโs expression darkened. โKieran, you crossed the line. Donโt you dare push me!โ Disgust was evident in her eyes.
Kieranโs anger flared. โMe? Over the line? Youโve hit me twice now. Whoโs crossing the line here?โ
Just then, they heard the front door open downstairs. Hearing this, Freya quickly covered Kieranโs mouth. Kieran frowned deeply. The sound of someone coming upstairs was faint but growing closer.
Kieran grabbed Freyaโs hand, gritting his teeth. โFreyaโฆโ
Freya hushed, โShh! Be quiet!โ The person was walking toward their room. In a split-second decision, Freya pinned Kieran down. Freya was on edge, her gaze fixed on the door.
