Chapter 233
The tension in the room seemed to dissipate as the person on the bed appeared to regain composure. Kieran looked at Freya, his eyes betraying a flicker of concern. After all, Freya was a girl, and the day's events must have terrified her.
As he moved closer to Freya, intending to push a stray lock of hair from her forehead, she suddenly raised her arms. Kieran froze at the sight.
Clearly and distinctly, Freya muttered, โDamn it. Hit me, and Iโll kill you!โ
โKieran, you scumbag!โ
โKieran, Iโll strangle you!โ
โKieran, go to hell!โ
Kieran was at a loss for words. He had been scrolling on his phone to check information for the next day but now found himself accidentally observing why people who are under might start sleep-talking.
As Freyaโs tirades grew increasingly venomous, Kieran lost all interest in his research. He even started to suspect that Freya was doing it on purpose.
At that moment, the night nurse cautiously opened the door to the hospital room, intending to apologize to Kieran about the earlier incident.
However, without glancing up, Kieran coldly said, โLeave.โ
โMr. Sutton, your secretary brought you some late-night snacks.โ While saying this, the nurse carefully placed the snacks on the table beside Kieran.
Seeing it, Kieran asked, โHas she been talking nonsense because of the general anesthesia?โ
The nurse looked puzzled. โGeneral anesthesia?โ
โIsnโt that it?โ
โThis lady didnโt undergo any major surgery, just local anesthesia, no general anesthesia.โ
After hearing this, Kieranโs face darkened, and his gaze shifted back to Freya on the bed.
Freya lazily yawned and then opened her eyes the next moment. Stretching, she said, โHuh? Mr. Sutton, what are you doing here?โ
At this, Kieran gritted his teeth and growled. He had thought Freya was babbling under the influence of general anesthesia after cursing him for ten whole minutes. But she was faking it!
Freya looked at the nurse standing by and said, โSorry, I donโt want to see this man. Could you please ask him to leave?โ โThisโฆโ The nurse looked troubled. She might have dared to fight before knowing Kieranโs status, but then, she wouldnโt dare to ask Kieran to leave.
With a dark expression, Kieran said, โFreya, I saved you. Have you no gratitude?โ
Freya leaned back on her hospital bed and responded coolly, โSaved me? Iโd hardly say that. If it werenโt for you, Mr. Sutton, I wouldnโt be in this mess.โ
โYouโฆโ
