Chapter 930: Let Us Use Them

The camping spot Roxanne chose was in the suburbs near a mountain, a two-hour drive from the city. They arrived close to noon.

Stepping from the car, Roxanne sighed in awe, surveying the surroundings. The drive had been worthwhile. Their campsite was a lush field dotted with tiny wildflowers. Roxanne had deliberately chosen a spacious area for their tent, with a small forest nearby. The forest's denser vegetation offered occasional glimpses of rabbits hopping playfully. A small waterfall on the other side provided a refreshing, cool breeze and a serene, gurgling soundtrack. It was an idyllic location; happiness radiated from the children's faces.

"It's so beautiful!" Estella exclaimed, the morning's unhappiness seemingly forgotten. Archie and Benny were equally astounded. "Mommy always finds the best places," Archie added. "Way better than anywhere we've camped before." "Run along and play," Roxanne said, "I'll set up the tent."

Roxanne unpacked the camping equipment and began assembling the tent. Archie and Benny immediately offered to help. Having been on numerous camping trips, they were quite capable. Roxanne readily accepted their assistance, handing them the tent corners to secure. Estella, lacking experience and strength, watched curiously, offering words of encouragement.

Roxanne chuckled at Estella's intrigued expression. Soon, the tent was erected. Roxanne then retrieved the children's luggage, unpacking their clothes, toys, and foodโ€”simple yet sufficient preparations.

After organizing their belongings, she returned to the car for Estella's suitcase. It was significantly heavier than the others. Roxanne couldn't help but wonder what Lucian had packed. Intrigued, the three children gathered around as she opened it.

They were all speechless. Even Roxanne was momentarily stunned by the contents: batteries, a flashlight, and other specialized equipment.

"What's this?" Estella asked, noticing the stark contrast between her luggage and the others.

Roxanne's gaze shifted from the professional-grade equipment to the simple items she'd prepared for the boys. Benny, snapping out of his shock, exclaimed, "This is so cool!" Archie and Benny, long fascinated by such gear, had never seen it at a campsite before.

"Mommy, let's use them!" the boys urged excitedly.

Roxanne glanced at their eager faces and then at the equipment. Hesitating briefly, she agreed. The flashlight was unnecessary for now, but Roxanne used the batteries and other items Lucian had packed to assemble a simple stove for their lunch barbecue.
