Chapter 926: Vivid Expressions
Estella remained slightly upset, but the mention of the camping trip diverted her attention.
"Food and water..." Lucian frowned thoughtfully. "Ms. Jarvis will likely handle that. What else do you need?"
Estella was thoroughly distracted by the camping idea. However, she'd never participated in team-building activities like camping, and the Farwells never took their children camping. She felt completely unprepared.
A moment later, a sly expression flickered in her eyes. "Why don't we ask Ms. Jarvis?" she suggested cautiously.
Lucian, watching her through the rearview mirror, pretended not to hear. "Rest early when we get home," he said.
Estella recognized his rejection and fell silent, unhappy.
They soon arrived at the Farwell residence. Lucian exited the car, opened the door for Estella, and offered to carry her. But Estella ignored him, hopping out and trudging toward the mansion, head down.
Catalina, answering the doorbell, asked if they'd eaten. Seeing Estella sitting angrily on the couch, she looked questioningly at Lucian.
"We have," he said quietly, glancing at the dishes on the table.
Catalina nodded. "Then I'll have them cleared." She then voiced her concern. "What's wrong with Ms. Estella?"
Lucian sidestepped the question. "Estella's camping tomorrow. Please prepare her things."
Catalina looked troubled. "Mr. Farwell, Ms. Estella..." She knew Estella, when angry, wouldn't allow anyone to touch her belongings, making it impossible for her to pack.
Lucian turned to Estella, huddled on the couch. He frowned. "Forget it. I'll help her."
Catalina visibly relaxed, watching worriedly as Lucian approached Estella.
"It's late. Pack and rest early." He looked down at his simmering daughter.
Estella glared at him before huffing away. Lucian raised an eyebrow and scooped her into his arms. Unable to resist, Estella allowed him to carry her to her room.
Throughout the journey, she remained silently furious. Lucian, upon arrival, didn't speak, instead busily typing on his phone, researching camping essentials online.
After consulting online resources, he packed Estella's bag. He then helped her pack a small suitcase.
"What else do you need?" he asked, finally turning to her.
Estella, lacking camping experience, simply nodded at the suitcase, her expression a mixture of anger and anticipation.
Lucian, assuming her satisfaction, zipped the suitcase and placed it by the door. "Rest early. You need to be up early tomorrow. Didn't you ask Ms. Jarvis to collect you?" he said before leaving, seemingly unconcerned by her anger. His departure, devoid of further concern, instantly softened Estella's angry expression.
