Chapter 1967: When Did I Ever Say That?

During dinner, Madilyn sent Roxanne a video showing the children enjoying their meal. She also detailed their planned activities: Madilyn would relax and play mobile games with Archie and Benny, needing their guidance since she wasn't very skilled. Estella, meanwhile, would be learning to make perfume sachets from Lorraine, an activity she enjoyed.

"Roxanne, every time my mom sees the kids, she badgers me afterward. I have no choice but to bring them over to distract her," Madilyn complained.

Roxanne's three remarkable children often attracted attention, and with a fourth on the way, Madilyn anticipated Lorraine's inevitable family-related prodding. "If I still don't make progress with Jonathan, I'll probably be forced into blind dates," Madilyn said helplessly.

Roxanne, though wanting to comfort her, knew her words would likely fall on deaf ears. She chuckled and replied, "Don't be so pessimistic about blind dates. You might meet someone you like."

"That's enough. I'm going to play with Archie and Benny now. I'll send them back around nine-thirty!"

After hanging up, Roxanne reflected on her life. Many envied her, unaware of the challenges she'd overcome during her six years in Epea. Sonya's voice called from downstairs, "Roxanne, come down! I made mushroom soup!"

Roxanne smiled. "Okay, coming!"

At the Xander residence, Madilyn was exhilarated, winning game after game under Archie and Benny's guidance. "Seriously, I'm terrible without you two! It's devastating!" she exclaimed, deeply impressed by their gaming skills at such a young age. Their speed and reflexes suggested a promising future in professional gaming.

Then, a message appeared: "Jenny, did you get an expert gamer to help you today? How impressive. I told you I could guide you, but it seems you don't need it anymore."

"Jenny" was Madilyn's in-game name. She recognized the sender, "Ocean Blue," from previous matches. They were both from Horington, and she recalled their past successful collaborations.

Madilyn replied, "Thanks, Blue. I just play to relax; I don't care about winning." Privately, she admitted to near-phone-smashing rage when she lost.

Archie and Benny, noticing her blatant lie, exchanged knowing glances and giggled.

Ocean Blue replied with a mocking emoji: "Really? But I remember you saying you needed a mentor last time. Want to consider me?"

Seeing Archie and Benny watching, Madilyn chuckled and waved her hands dismissively. "This guy's memory must be terrible. When did I ever say that?"
