Chapter 1801: Lost for Words

Meanwhile, in the living room of the Queen residence, Jonathan scowled at his sister, Frieda, who returned home drunk, reeking of alcohol. He berated her, "What on earth are you doing, Frieda? I gave you authority to manage the medicinal herb companies, as you requested. Yet, I hear you've never even visited them! You're constantly drunk. I was wrong about you!"

His tone conveyed disappointment, frustration, and anger.

Frieda, raising a brow, flashed a dazed smile. "What do you mean? This is how I manage the company. Who do you think I'm drinking with? Mind your own business if you don't know."

She had never intended to emulate her brother's serious, principled approach.

"Do you think these suppliers are easy to negotiate with?" she retorted. "You have no idea how much that bastard Jack paid them. That's why they exaggerate the medicine's effects and inflate prices. I'm drinking to cut costs and boost profits."

Initially, Frieda had been delighted by the prospect of managing the suppliers, envisioning easy money. The reality, however, was a chaotic mess. An inspection revealed that the company heads were disobedient, merely pretending to cooperate. Some even planned to start businesses elsewhere. She wouldn't have found a solution without Shawn's adviceโ€”to use industry tactics to manage these people.

Thankfully, each drinking session yielded results; she was close to unifying the companies.

Jonathan sighed. "Must you drink with them? Don't forget who you are. You represent the Queen family!" He still believed her methods weren't ideal.

"Yes, yes, I represent the Queen family," Frieda snapped, glaring at him. "I have nothing to say to you. Forget it. Mind your own business." She staggered to her room.

Once inside, she called Shawn. "I'm home. My head hurts terribly, and I miss you," she blurted, using her drunkenness as an excuse.

Shawn chuckled. "I miss you too. You're doing a great job, settling things without spending much. As expected of the woman I fancy."

His praise brought a smile to her face, easing the discomfort of her intoxication.

"Get some rest," Shawn said. "Our plan will gradually be realized."

Frieda believed Shawn was more capable than Jonathan, even on par with Lucian. The thought of a future with Shawn filled her heart with warmth.

"You should rest too," she said. "If you're free tomorrow, could we meet?"

"Sure. See you tomorrow then. Good night!" Shawn hung up immediately. His directness was appealing to Frieda. Smiling contentedly, she fell asleep.

Meanwhile, in the mountain mansion, Shawn hung up his phone and turned to the blond, blue-eyed man before him.

"Mr. Paolo," he began, "I've offered you the best possible terms, better than Lucian's. Your recent actions have aroused his suspicion, making now the ideal time for us to collaborate. Please consider it carefully." Paolo was a significant Farwell Group client from Epea and had recently caused Lucian considerable trouble.

Paolo smiled, replying in broken Chanaean, "Yes, your offer is excellent. I have no problem with it, but let's discuss tonight's arrangements."

Shawn understood immediately; Paolo was known for his licentiousness.

"It's arranged," Shawn said. "Everything is en route to the hotel. I hope you enjoy yourself tonight, Mr. Paolo." He instructed his driver to take Paolo to the hotel.
