Chapter 1763
Upon hearing her best friend's offer, Roxanne teased, โAre you sure you want to foot the bill if I'm bringing Lucian along?โ She knew Madilyn too well; there was no way Madilyn would pass up a chance to indulge in Lucian's company. To Roxanne's surprise, Madilyn replied without hesitation, โI'll treat you next time. This is a celebratory meal for you. Mr. Farwell will have to wait his turn.โ
A chuckle escaped Roxanne. โAll right, then. I won't spare your wallet.โ
Madilyn hummed in agreement. โI'll send you the restaurant's location later.โ They ended the call.
Roxanne turned to Lucian. โMadilyn's treating us to dinner tonight, and she asked us to bring the children.โ Lucian nodded, and they drove to collect their three children.
The children, having not seen Roxanne since Lucian sent them home the previous night, were overjoyed at her safe return. โMommy, you're back!โ
Roxanne smiled, crouching to hug them as they showered her with happy words. After chatting, she said, โCome on, let's get changed. Aunt Madilyn's treating us to dinner.โ
The children were even more excited to hear their godmother was buying. โHooray for Aunt Madilyn!โ
The family of five, reunited and with Roxanne fully recovered, looked forward to dinner with their godmother. For the children, having their loved ones together was the best thing in the world. Their joy was infectious, and Roxanne's smile remained bright.
Madilyn soon sent the restaurant's location. Roxanne and Lucian took the children to a private room. As they sat down, the server arrived with dishesโall Roxanne's and the children's favorites.
โThank you,โ Roxanne exclaimed. โI'm sorry to have worried you.โ
Madilyn's smile softened. โYou did scare me. I'm so glad everything's alright. That's all I want.โ She glanced at Lucian before continuing, โNo one had it as rough as Mr. Farwell. I at least got a few hours' sleep, but he didn't get any.โ
Roxanne met Lucian's gaze, and the couple shared a moment. Everyone enjoyed the celebratory dinner. Madilyn occasionally chided Jack's self-inflicted predicament while praising Lucian, even nearly suggesting Roxanne hold onto him. The children nodded in agreement.
Pleased by their compliments, Lucian paid the bill before Madilyn could protest. This left Madilyn grumpy about missing her chance to treat Roxanne. Seeing Roxanne and Lucian preparing to leave, she pulled Roxanne aside.
โI haven't treated Roxanne yet! Mr. Farwell, please take the kids home first. We're going for round two!โ
