Chapter 1757: Will Make You Pay
โBecause of old-fashioned doctors like you, the medical field is in this state!โ Jack suddenly pulled a knife from behind his back and lunged at Roxanne, shouting, โIf it werenโt for your foolishness, I wouldnโt be in this mess!โ
Roxanneโs heart pounded at the sight of the blade. A crew member swiftly tackled Jack to the floor.
Clank! The knife fell as Jack struggled. โLet go of me! I paid you! How dare you help them? You scumbags! Iโll poison every one of you!โ
The crew member silently continued to restrain him, then looked to Lucian for instructions. Lucian stared emotionlessly at Jack. โSince you consider Farwell Group an obstacle, you should have researched our assets before planning your escape.โ
Jack fell silent, staring in disbelief. โAmong the ten subsidiaries you coveted is a shipping company. Didnโt you notice?โ Lucian looked down. โYou only see money. Even if I gave you the company, what could you do with it?โ
Jonathan added, โFriendly reminder: Farwell Group controls Horingtonโs shipping. This ferry belongs to us. You created your own trap.โ
This ferry belonged to Farwell Group? Shock and regret washed over Jack. Lucian had known about his escape plan from the start; heโd been waiting. The late ferry and the captainโs announcements were all lies.
Hatred filled Jackโs gaze. โAs for your money, we didnโt take a penny.โ
The captain entered, greeted Lucian respectfully, then turned to Jack. โI donated every penny to the victims you defrauded. Consider it karmic retribution. You should thank me.โ
Jackโs expression turned vicious. โYou bastard! Iโll kill you!โ
The captain ignored him, standing respectfully beside Lucian. Lucian said icily, โStop it. The police are on their way. Youโll receive your due punishment.โ
Jack, speechless with loathing, seethed. โIโll never forgive you! Without you, Damaris Group would be a medical empire! You have no right to speak to me! When I return, I will make you pay!โ
Roxanneโs eyes filled with pain. Who could believe the Damaris heir, a man of such promise, could be so consumed by greed?
โLetโs go.โ Lucian, seeing her sorrow, took her hand and led her away. Jonathan and the captain remained to await the police.
