Chapter 1515

After much contemplation, Jonathan decided he needed to speak with Lucian face-to-face after learning the truth. Otherwise, the Queen family might suffer the same fate as the Pearson family if Aubree revealed it to the Farwells. He quickly called Lucian, inviting him for drinks. Lucian, pent up with anger for two days, readily agreed. They met at their usual club.

Jonathan, already nursing a drink in the private room, appeared angry. Lucian entered, poured himself a drink, and asked, "What's wrong? Did something else happen to the Queen family?"

Jonathan struggled to articulate the truth, his mind racing. Only Lucian's voice jolted him back to reality. After finishing his drink, he said with a bitter smile, "Lucian, you suspected Aubree ran away, didn't you? She did."

Lucian stopped mid-drink, eyes fixed on Jonathan. "What did you say?"

Helplessness etched Jonathan's face. "I wish I didn't know, but..." He didn't need to finish; Lucian understood. If Jonathan hadn't discovered the truth, it was unlikely anyone else would have, except perhaps the person closest to the situation. Frieda.

A cold glint flashed in Lucian's eyes at the thought of Frieda, but he remained considerate of his friend, suppressing his displeasure. Jonathan had been a great help to Lucian and Roxanne's relationship; Lucian trusted him to keep an eye on Frieda, and would pretend ignorance as long as Jonathan remained silent.

"Who sent her away?" Lucian asked, refilling their glasses.

Jonathan gratefully raised his glass. "The man Aubree met at the hotel opening. He also took inappropriate photos of her the next morning. I have no idea why he'd help her escape."

Lucian frowned, his expression grim. "What are his intentions? He initially thrust Aubree into the spotlight, then helps her disappear, evading both the Farwells and the police... This man is dangerous. I must find him."

Jonathan agreed. "I want to know Aubree's whereabouts too. Finding that man is key. I'm involved; I can't stand idly by."

Lucian nodded, taking a sip. "It's not bad that Aubree left Herington. If she dares to return, she'll never get another chance to hurt them!"

Jonathan knew who "them" referred to. Remembering his sister's association with Aubree, he apologized. "I'm sorry. If I'd known soonerโ€”"

"It's not your fault. If Aubree stays away, we'll let it go. But if she returns, the truth will come out." His consideration had limits.

Jonathan sighed, remaining silent.
