Chapter 1281
The children saw the affectionate gesture between Roxanne and Lucian and exchanged knowing glances. However, as the couple approached, they pretended not to notice, continuing their conversation about the amusement park rides.
Later, everyone piled into the car, eager for the day ahead. Lucian took them to a diner for breakfast before heading to the amusement park. Arriving during peak hours, they found the park extremely crowded. Navigating the throngs of people, Roxanne was reminded of their previous trip to the hot springs, where Benny had gotten lost, filling her with apprehension.
Sensing her unease, Lucian squeezed her hand. "If you're worried, I can have the area cleared," he offered.
Roxanne shook her head, a faint smile playing on her lips. "It's okay. The kids won't have as much fun if you do that."
Benny, understanding his mother's concern, lifted his arm to show her his smartwatch. "Mommy, it's alright. We're all wearing smartwatches. If you can't find us, you can always call!"
Archie and Estella chimed in, "Yup! We'll stick close to you."
Reassured, Roxanne smiled, affectionately stroking their heads. "I just want you guys to have fun."
The children dashed off to their first ride. Roxanne accompanied them on a few kiddie rides, but they remained unsatisfied.
"Mommy, let's go on the roller coaster!" Benny's eyes shone with excitement as a roller coaster sped past.
Roxanne hesitated. "You're too young for that. Let's try something else."
Lucian's deep voice interrupted. "I saw a children's roller coaster earlier. They could try that."
Before Roxanne could agree, Benny objected. "That's not exciting! We want to go on this one!"
Roxanne was at a loss. The children were indeed too young for the main roller coaster. Even if Lucian managed to get them on, she would still worry. As she pondered a solution, Archie spoke up.
"Mommy, if we can't go on the ride, can you and Mr. Farwell go instead? We can pretend we went!"
Benny and Estella nodded in agreement.
Roxanne subconsciously glanced at Lucian. She wouldn't mind if it made the children happy, but Lucian didn't seem like the type to enjoy amusement park rides. She couldn't imagine him on a roller coaster.
"Mr. Farwell!"
"Daddy!"
The children, realizing their target should be Lucian, began to coax him.
Roxanne, hesitant to put Lucian on the spot, was about to refuse when Lucian, with a serious expression, said to the children, "No problem. But the three of you must stay here and be good. Don't run off or talk to strangers, okay?"
The children, overjoyed by his agreement, replied sweetly, "We'll wait patiently!" They then urged Roxanne and Lucian to join the queue.
With Lucian's agreement, Roxanne remained silent, allowing him to take her hand and lead her towards the ride.
