Chapter 1005: Switch to This Acupuncture Point

At first, Roxanne thought they wouldn't manage the workload. Surprisingly, the children were very cooperative; she couldn't determine if it was due to the gifts she'd prepared. Both Roxanne and Jack treated the patients efficiently, perhaps aided by the orphanage's superior city facilities compared to the previous one. Aside from a few congenital disabilities, the children were generally healthy. As the line shortened, Roxanne felt increasingly relaxed.

When the last child entered the tent, Roxanne gave him a stuffed bunny. Surprised, he politely thanked her, "Thank you, Ms. Jarvis!" carefully accepting the toy. Roxanne patted his head, beaming. Then, noticing his extreme pallor, her heart sank. Concerned, she asked, "Do you experience any discomfort?"

He frowned, mulling before hesitantly replying, "My heart feels uncomfortable sometimes." Roxanne's brow furrowed. "Can you elaborate?"

He pondered. "Sometimes, it beats really fast, but it goes back to normal." This suggested arrhythmia.

Roxanne glanced at Jack before instructing the boy, "Dear, could you lie down? I'd like to examine you."

Carrying the bunny, the boy obediently climbed onto the bed. Roxanne took his pulse while Jack activated a nearby machine. Soon, their suspicions were confirmed: severe arrhythmia, but thankfully, without major complications. They had discovered his illness.

Before Jack could speak, Roxanne, comforting the boy, produced her acupuncture tools. "This might sting a little. Please be brave."

The boy, though slightly frightened by the needles, seemed emboldened by the bunny and nodded. Roxanne patted his head and began inserting the needles. She knew acupuncture could alleviate arrhythmia symptoms.

Just as she was about to insert the last needle, Jack spoke, "This point might be better."

Roxanne paused, looking questioningly at the point Jack indicated. He smiled. "The Damaris family researched this. Your chosen points are common for arrhythmia, but our research suggests better results using this alternate point for the final needle."

Surprise crossed Roxanne's face. The point Jack suggested was rarely used. She couldn't guarantee the outcome. It might improve his condition, or it might worsen it. The boy watched earnestly, trusting them implicitly.

After careful consideration, Roxanne looked at Jack's confident gaze. She decided to follow his suggestion, inserting the final needle into the alternative point.
