Vince shook his head. โNo way.โ
Rowan smiled. โShe really is that amazing. And I have to thank you for fumbling her not once, but twice.โ Rowan rolled his eyes at Brandon. โIf it werenโt for your stupidity in choosing Shannon over there, I would have never found my queen. My Goddess-blessed mate.โ He pulled his shirt completely off, revealing the mate mark. โEverythingโs in place for her to take over in my stead.โ
โYou know I will just kill her, right?โ Garith smiled.
Rowan threw his head back and laughed so hard he started to cough. Garithโs face grew dark. โYou can try.โ Rowan held up his hands. โBut she is stronger than you think she is.โ
Garith smiled. โItโs fine, I can get my sonโโ
โThe one in the caves with Aurora?โ Rowan lifted a brow. โYeahโฆdonโt think he will be around for long. Sheโs already dead, and he doesnโt seem like he has a lot of survival skills. If you know what Iโm saying.โ
Garithโs face paled. โNo.โ
โI mean, Vince did say she wanted your servers.โ Rowan smiled.
Garith pulled out his phone and dialed a number. โPick up.โ He turned and shouted to the crowd. โGrab them.โ
Everyone converged on the front. A few females wove in between the men as Garith tried to dial again. Lynn grinned. โNo answer?โ
Garith growled low. โI will kill you if he is hurt.โ
Lynn snapped her fangs. โIโm already dead, remember.โ She cackled as he dialed one more time.
Finally, the call connected. There were screams in the distance. โDad?โ Garrenโs voice rang out of the speaker.
Garithโs hand tightened on the phone. โGarren, what is going on?โ
โThe cavesโฆthe caves are under attack.โ There was a howl, and Garrenโs voice hardened. โAurora is dead. A tracker killed her the other day. I was able to get some out, but a lot of the exits were covered by other packs.โ
Garith turned to face Rowan, who was smiling. โDid I forget to say that?โ
โGarren, listen to me. Leave the rogues. Just get yourself out.โ
โDad, you know I canโt do that. Iโm their Alpha.โ Garrenโs voice sounded flat.
โYes, you can. Do what I say, boy.โ
There was a pause on the other end before Garrenโs voice came back. โFine. But Iโm saving as many as I can.โ Then the phone disconnected.
Garith stared down at his phone for a second before he threw it against one of the pillars, shattering it into a million pieces. He whirled back to face Rowan, who was smiling. โIโm going to kill you.โ
โYou can try.โ Rowan pushed up from the pew and rocked back and forth on his feet.
Garith smiled. โYou think this is going to be a challenge?โ He tossed his head and laughed. โYou are stupid, just like your father.โ He looked around at the crowd. โGrab him.โ
A few guards and one female grabbed Rowan, holding his arms behind his back as Garith stepped closer. โIโm going to have them hold you down as I cut your heart from your chest.โ
Brandonโs face furrowed in confusion. โWhy not just use your Alpha command or magic?โ
Verity rolled her eyes. โThey wonโt work. Commands and magic will only go so far, but if a wolf feels like it is in danger, then it will break free and fight for its life.โ
Brandon pointed at Derek. โObviously not, Derek was stuck in place as that fucking whore sliced into him.โ
Verity sighed. โNo, your beta is just a dumbass.โ Verity kicked at Derekโs hand. Brandon growled, but she rolled her eyes. โHis wolf was just as delusional as he was. They had convinced themselves that they werenโt in danger because he didnโt see females as a danger. He could have gotten up at any time. But he stayed there because he thought he was going to heal. He was stupid.โ
Brandon stared down at his best friendโs body. โHe could have gotten up?โ
Garith chuffed out a chuckle. โIt wouldnโt have mattered anyway, boy. He was gone as soon as the second blade went in. After the silver was that close to the heart, it wouldnโt have mattered. He was already dead; his body just had to catch up.โ He turned to me and waved me closer. I walked up beside him and held out the toolkit. โNow, back to the important bit.โ He grabbed another knife. โYou are such a good girl.โ I smiled softly.
โThank you.โ I slipped a knife out of this kit as he turned his back to me. I watched as he stepped closer to my mate. โI try my best, Alpha.โ
โIf only my family members were this useful.โ He trailed a knife over Rowanโs face. โNowโฆI think itโs about time.โ
โWellโฆโ I smiled softly. โYouโre in luck.โ Garith froze for a second.
โWhat?โ He looked at me as the mask I untied fell from my eyes.
โI said youโre in luckโฆGrandpa.โ I turned and slit one of the guards' throats.
