Chapter 954
Leroyโs eyes burned with jealousy, and he shamelessly said, โAndrew, Iโm not a doctor, but I could work here as a male nurse. You could pay me 100 grand a month too, right?โ
Irene quickly chimed in, laughing awkwardly. โAndrew, you know Iโm getting older, and Iโve been scammed out of a lot of money over the years. I donโt even have enough saved for retirement! How about you hire me to cook for the clinic? I wonโt ask for muchโ50 grand a month will do!โ
The sight of the mother and son practically groveling made Francesca sick to her stomach.
โSorry, weโre full,โ Andrew rejected them without hesitation.
Leroy refused to give up. โAndrew, your business is booming, and this place is huge. Thereโs no way youโre at full capacity! Hire me, and I promise Iโll work hard!โ
Andrewโs tone remained indifferent. โWe might hire more people in the future, but thereโs one requirementโno hiring lazy slackers with bad character.โ
Leroyโs face instantly turned red with anger. โAndrew, just say itโyou donโt want me here because you think Iโm a piece of trash, right?โ
Andrew shot him a cold glance. โYeah, so what? I donโt like you, and I think youโre worthlessโwhat are you gonna do about it?โ
Leroy fumed, but he forced himself to hold back. Right now, he could talk big, but if he actually tried to start a fight, he would just embarrass himself.
Christina spoke up, her voice steady. โAndrew, you have no experience running a business. From what I see, your payroll is completely unreasonable!โ
Andrew sneered. โOh? Ms. Stevens, the all-knowing corporate executive, please enlighten me.โ
Christina replied coolly, โI wouldnโt call it enlighteningโI just want to point out some basic common sense. If youโre paying out hundreds of thousands in salaries every month, then Moonlit Apothecary needs to be making at least two million to break even!โ
Her implication was clearโAndrew was handing out fat paychecks, but the clinicโs revenue could not possibly support it. In other words, he was just trying to look rich.
Leroy scoffed. โYeah, right! This run-down little clinic making two million a month? If it even makes half a million, Iโll chop my head off and kick it like a soccer ball!โ
Andrew chuckled and could not be bothered to argue with such short-sighted fools.
Francesca, on the other hand, was not having it. โThe Stevens family sure loves looking down on people! Well, let me set the record straightโMoonlit Apothecary has only been open for about a month. But as for revenue? Itโs already passed five million! Two million? Please, donโt insult us.โ
Irene and Leroyโs jaws dropped. They wondered if that was even possible. Could this place really be making that much money?
Christina remained composed. โIf what Ms. Aicker is saying is true, then Moonlit Apothecary must be generating nearly 20 grand in business every single day. From a professional standpoint, that sounds absolutely ridiculous.โ
Francesca scoffed. โI knew you wouldnโt believe it, Christina. Nyla, bring out the tax records!โ
Nyla smirked proudly and immediately went to retrieve the documents. Determined to prove them wrong, Christina leaned in to examine the records.
The moment she saw the numbers, her body stiffened. Based on the tax filings, she could easily calculate Moonlit Apothecaryโs total monthly revenue.
Sure enough, it really did exceed five million. Looking at the numbers, it was clearโAndrewโs high salaries were not unreasonable at all!
Francesca smirked. โMs. Stevens, do you still have something to say?โ
Christinaโs face turned red with embarrassment, and for once, she was at a complete loss for words.
