Chapter 954

Leroyโ€™s eyes burned with jealousy, and he shamelessly said, โ€œAndrew, Iโ€™m not a doctor, but I could work here as a male nurse. You could pay me 100 grand a month too, right?โ€

Irene quickly chimed in, laughing awkwardly. โ€œAndrew, you know Iโ€™m getting older, and Iโ€™ve been scammed out of a lot of money over the years. I donโ€™t even have enough saved for retirement! How about you hire me to cook for the clinic? I wonโ€™t ask for muchโ€”50 grand a month will do!โ€

The sight of the mother and son practically groveling made Francesca sick to her stomach.

โ€œSorry, weโ€™re full,โ€ Andrew rejected them without hesitation.

Leroy refused to give up. โ€œAndrew, your business is booming, and this place is huge. Thereโ€™s no way youโ€™re at full capacity! Hire me, and I promise Iโ€™ll work hard!โ€

Andrewโ€™s tone remained indifferent. โ€œWe might hire more people in the future, but thereโ€™s one requirementโ€”no hiring lazy slackers with bad character.โ€

Leroyโ€™s face instantly turned red with anger. โ€œAndrew, just say itโ€”you donโ€™t want me here because you think Iโ€™m a piece of trash, right?โ€

Andrew shot him a cold glance. โ€œYeah, so what? I donโ€™t like you, and I think youโ€™re worthlessโ€”what are you gonna do about it?โ€

Leroy fumed, but he forced himself to hold back. Right now, he could talk big, but if he actually tried to start a fight, he would just embarrass himself.

Christina spoke up, her voice steady. โ€œAndrew, you have no experience running a business. From what I see, your payroll is completely unreasonable!โ€

Andrew sneered. โ€œOh? Ms. Stevens, the all-knowing corporate executive, please enlighten me.โ€

Christina replied coolly, โ€œI wouldnโ€™t call it enlighteningโ€”I just want to point out some basic common sense. If youโ€™re paying out hundreds of thousands in salaries every month, then Moonlit Apothecary needs to be making at least two million to break even!โ€

Her implication was clearโ€”Andrew was handing out fat paychecks, but the clinicโ€™s revenue could not possibly support it. In other words, he was just trying to look rich.

Leroy scoffed. โ€œYeah, right! This run-down little clinic making two million a month? If it even makes half a million, Iโ€™ll chop my head off and kick it like a soccer ball!โ€

Andrew chuckled and could not be bothered to argue with such short-sighted fools.

Francesca, on the other hand, was not having it. โ€œThe Stevens family sure loves looking down on people! Well, let me set the record straightโ€”Moonlit Apothecary has only been open for about a month. But as for revenue? Itโ€™s already passed five million! Two million? Please, donโ€™t insult us.โ€

Irene and Leroyโ€™s jaws dropped. They wondered if that was even possible. Could this place really be making that much money?

Christina remained composed. โ€œIf what Ms. Aicker is saying is true, then Moonlit Apothecary must be generating nearly 20 grand in business every single day. From a professional standpoint, that sounds absolutely ridiculous.โ€

Francesca scoffed. โ€œI knew you wouldnโ€™t believe it, Christina. Nyla, bring out the tax records!โ€

Nyla smirked proudly and immediately went to retrieve the documents. Determined to prove them wrong, Christina leaned in to examine the records.

The moment she saw the numbers, her body stiffened. Based on the tax filings, she could easily calculate Moonlit Apothecaryโ€™s total monthly revenue.

Sure enough, it really did exceed five million. Looking at the numbers, it was clearโ€”Andrewโ€™s high salaries were not unreasonable at all!

Francesca smirked. โ€œMs. Stevens, do you still have something to say?โ€

Christinaโ€™s face turned red with embarrassment, and for once, she was at a complete loss for words.
