Chapter 94

Leroy nursed his stinging cheek, glaring at Andrew in angry silence. Christinaโ€™s face paled at the mention of canceling the partnership.

โ€œMr. Maloney,โ€ she quickly interjected, โ€œI apologize for Leroyโ€™s behavior and disrespect.โ€

Owen sneered. โ€œYour apology means nothing. Mr. Lloyd has the final say.โ€

The thought of apologizing to Andrew tore at Christina, but Owenโ€™s furious expression highlighted the risk of losing the orphanage deal. After a momentโ€™s hesitation, she forced out, โ€œIโ€™m sorry, Mr. Lloyd.โ€

Andrew smirked. โ€œMs. Stevens, I never thought youโ€™d actually bow to someone.โ€

โ€œDoes it feel good to use Mr. Yatesโ€™ influence to humiliate me?โ€ Christina hissed.

Andrewโ€™s expression remained cold. He thought her incredibly foolish. If he truly wanted to deal with the Stevens family, he could do it easily; he needed no oneโ€™s help. Only then did he realize Marvinโ€™s โ€œhelpโ€ was a ruse to set him up with Christina. The cunning man had played him expertly.

Owen announced, โ€œMs. Stevens, Mr. Lloyd will oversee all future cooperation with Stevens Corporation. I hope you both work well together!โ€ He then quickly departed.

Alone, Irene demanded, โ€œAndrew, since when are you a Wealthroller Investments senior executive?โ€

Christina asked suspiciously, โ€œAndrew, are you really that close to Mr. Yates?โ€

Andrew replied coldly, โ€œDoes my relationship with Mr. Yates matter to you, Ms. Stevens? Or are you regretting your actions now that you know?โ€

Christina shook her head firmly. โ€œI never regret my decisions. However, youโ€™ve changed since we separated, and your behavior remains childish and disrespectful.โ€

โ€œI neither want nor need your approval,โ€ Andrew said dismissively. โ€œLetโ€™s discuss business.โ€

Christina frowned. โ€œIsnโ€™t it ridiculous for Mr. Yates to put someone like you in charge of such a major project?โ€

โ€œWealthroller Investments has complete control over this project,โ€ Andrew stated calmly. โ€œI am your superior here. Is this how you address your boss, Ms. Stevens?โ€

Suppressing her frustration, Christina replied coldly, โ€œI apologize for my rudeness, Mr. Lloyd. But let me remind youโ€”borrowed power is temporary. Donโ€™t let it go to your head.โ€

Andrew remained unfazed. โ€œWhy should I worry? With Mr. Yates and Ms. Rhodes backing me, life is comfortable.โ€

Christina scoffed, convinced he was irredeemable, sinking lower than ever.

Meanwhile, at the mayorโ€™s residence in Jayrodale, numerous prominent figures visited Mark. The mood was somber as he lay in bed, surrounded by advanced medical equipment. One by one, Jayrodaleโ€™s top medical experts and professors left the room, shaking their heads in defeat.
