Chapter 774 ()

Andrew agreed with Francescaโ€™s suggestion. Then, he pressed a point on Laurenโ€™s shoulder, and she immediately fell into a deep sleep.

Just then, noise erupted outside. Andrew frowned and was about to ask Francesca to check it out when Eunice, the secretary, rushed in with a panicked expression.

She reported angrily, โ€œItโ€™s Michael. Heโ€™s been released without charges.โ€

Francescaโ€™s face darkened. โ€œReleased? He committed arson! How the hell did the police let him walk free?โ€

Eunice sighed bitterly. โ€œI donโ€™t know, but Michael is absolutely smug about it. Heโ€™s out there right now, celebrating while his lackeys kiss up to him.โ€

Andrew remained calm. โ€œNo need to speculate. Letโ€™s go see for ourselves.โ€

In the Rhodes Corporationโ€™s banquet hall, Michael was surrounded by a crowd of sycophants, popping champagne and reveling in his so-called victory. The entire scene was loud, obnoxious, and filled with arrogance.

โ€œMr. Rhodes, youโ€™re incredible! Even the cops couldnโ€™t touch you!โ€

โ€œSay no moreโ€”after today, I swear, Iโ€™m sticking with Mr. Rhodes!โ€

โ€œWith Mr. Rhodes in charge, Jayrodale is as good as his playground. Who the hell would dare challenge him?โ€

The endless flattery only made Michael grin wider, his arrogance reaching new heights.

Just then, Andrew and Francesca stepped into the room.

Michael, cigarette hanging from his lips, sauntered over and chuckled. โ€œAndrew, what do you think now? I told youโ€”those cops couldnโ€™t do a damn thing to me. You didnโ€™t believe me then, but I bet you do now.โ€

Andrew smiled lazily. โ€œThen congratulations, Mr. Rhodes. Youโ€™ve managed to crawl out of the lionโ€™s den and live another day.โ€

Michaelโ€™s face darkened. His smile twisted into a sneer as he spat, โ€œAndrew, Iโ€™ve told you beforeโ€”no matter what you do, youโ€™ll never outplay me. Even the police in Jayrodale couldnโ€™t touch me. So tell me, who the hell do you think you are?โ€

Andrew remained unfazed as he replied, โ€œIโ€™m nothing. But you, Mr. Rhodesโ€”youโ€™re something, alright. A worthless mutt. A pathetic pile of garbage. Thatโ€™s what you are. Satisfied?โ€

Michaelโ€™s lackeys immediately flared up and lunged toward Andrew. โ€œYou think you can talk to Mr. Rhodes like that? Youโ€™re digging your own grave!โ€

Michael raised a hand, stopping them. โ€œHold on. Donโ€™t touch him.โ€

His smirk deepened as he exhaled a cloud of smoke. โ€œIโ€™ll personally make sure this bastard doesnโ€™t leave here alive.โ€

He looked Andrew up and down with disdain. โ€œLet me teach you a little something, Andrew. Out here in the real world, power and connections are what matter. You might think youโ€™re tough, but Jayrodale is just a tiny dot on the map. Someone like me? Iโ€™m on a whole different levelโ€”one youโ€™ll never reach.โ€

Andrew chuckled. โ€œAnd you think that level comes from your daddy, Kenny, right? Let me make this clearโ€”if you dare pull any more stunts, if you so much as try to hurt Lauren again, you wonโ€™t make it out of Jayrodale alive.โ€

Michaelโ€™s expression flickered for a split second before he let out a sharp laugh. โ€œWell, well, seems like youโ€™ve done your homework. You actually know about my old man. But do you even realize how much power he holds? With just a flick of his finger, he could crush you.โ€

Francesca clenched her fists. โ€œMichael, what the hell are you so proud of? The head of the Rhodes family isnโ€™t your fatherโ€”itโ€™s Laurenโ€™s father, Mr. Jameson Rhodes!โ€

Michael scoffed and waved her off. โ€œFrancesca, youโ€™re hot, but honestly, the only thing youโ€™ve got going for you is your looks. Let me give you a little reality check. The one running the Rhodes family right now isnโ€™t Uncle Jameson. Itโ€™s my father, the man who just secured an alliance with the Golding family in Blumedale.

โ€œAs for Uncle Jameson? Please. If Iโ€™m feeling polite, Iโ€™ll still treat him like an elder, and let him keep up the act of being the head of the family. If Iโ€™m not? Iโ€™ll call him by his name to his faceโ€”and he wouldnโ€™t dare say a damn thing about it.โ€
