Chapter 736
Andrew let out a dry chuckle. โForgiveness? Mrs. Rhodes, I think youโre mistaken. I didnโt do anything wrong, so why would I need your forgiveness?โ
Tianaโs eyes burned with fury as she pointed at Howardโs battered face. โYou didnโt do anything wrong? Look at him! Do you see what you did? Andrew, donโt think that just because Marvin backs you, you can run wild on Rhodes Corporationโs turf!โ
Andrew frowned. โSo what youโre saying, Mrs. Rhodes, is that I wasnโt allowed to hit Howard? Why? Because heโs your nephew? Because the Lambert family is untouchable?โ
Lauren felt a pang of anxietyโAndrew was being far too aggressive with Tiana. Howard was not just another employee; he was part of the Lambert family. At a time like this, it would be better to give Tiana some leeway to de-escalate things.
She whispered, โDr. Lloyd, thatโs enough.โ
Andrew simply scoffed and glanced at the other lackeys he had beaten down. His voice was laced with disdain. โListen upโall of you. If you screw up, you pay for it. If you get hit, you stand up straight and take it like a man. This time, I only slapped you to teach you a lesson. But if I ever catch you throwing your weight around again, youโll regret ever being born.โ
Michaelโs temper snapped. โAndrew, youโre still not admitting fault? You donโt feel even a little remorse? And now, youโre even making threats?โ
Andrew shot him a cold look. โWhy would I admit fault when Iโve done nothing wrong?โ
Michaelโs face twisted with rage. โYou beat them up! How is that not wrong?โ
Andrew let out a low chuckle. โDid you ever bother to ask why I beat them up?โ
Michaelโs voice was dripping with arrogance. โI donโt care what your reason is. You hit someoneโthatโs wrong. And to make it worse, you didnโt just hit anyone; you hit Aunt Tianaโs nephewโyou hit my people. So I have every reason to believe you were just taking personal revenge!โ
Andrewโs tone remained indifferent. โIf I wanted to vent my anger, I wouldnโt have wasted my time on these clowns.โ
His gaze landed on Michael, and his lips curled into a smirk โI wouldโve gone straight for the biggest idiot in the roomโyou.โ
Those words angered Michael. His teeth clenched so hard it looked like he was ready to breathe fire, his glare filled with pure hatred.
Tianaโs eyes narrowed dangerously, a chilling glint flashing in them. โAndrew, do you really think I wonโt take action against you?โ
Andrew simply shrugged. โMrs. Rhodes, if you want to come after me, I wouldnโt stand a chance. But what I donโt understand is this: just because Howard is your nephew, does that mean he gets a free pass? Because heโs a Lambert, does that mean he can do whatever he wants?โ
Tianaโs expression stiffened. โYouโโ
Andrew completely ignored the fury rising in her face. His voice was sharp. โBefore you try to punish me, Mrs. Rhodes, maybe you should ask Mr. Chapman and the others what these idiots actually said. I just donโt get it. These guys are just middle managers, making whatโ20, maybe 30 grand a month? And yet, they think theyโre untouchable? They have the nerve to look down on me, a board member?โ
Andrew turned to Howard, casually fixing his crooked suspenders before giving his cheek a light pat. โFunny, isnโt it? We live in a capitalist world. Since when did corporate employees start looking down on the ones actually funding their paychecks? Tell me, isnโt the very thing you people fear the most precisely men like me?โ
Howard flinched, his entire body trembling, but he kept his mouth shut.
Michael had finally reached his breaking point. โMrs. Rhodes, look at him! Do you see how arrogant heโs become? He acts like throwing five billion into this company makes him some kind of god!โ
Andrew smirked and let out a slow, mocking laugh. โSorry to break it to you, but having money really does mean I can do whatever the hell I want.โ
