Listen to this chapter:

โ€œHa! Did this pretty boy just tell me, Scarface, to get lost?โ€

โ€œIdiot, youโ€™ve been watching too many superhero movies. Trying to play knight in shining armor, huh?โ€

โ€œBoss, why waste time talking? Letโ€™s just take him out!โ€ Another thug viciously swung a steel pipe at Andrewโ€™s head. Lauren sighed inwardly, knowing she would have to intervene to protect this brave but foolish man. Suddenly, a piercing scream erupted. The thug who had attacked first was on the ground, clutching his stomach. Andrew had somehow disarmed him, then, in a blur of motion, swung the pipe, a series of thuds marking the attackersโ€™ falls. His movements were too fast to follow.

Scarface roared, leaping at Andrew with a vicious kick. Andrew tossed aside the bent pipe and, without looking, countered with a kick of his own. Scarfaceโ€™s cry echoed as his body flew backward, slamming into an SUV with a sickening thud. Blood spewed from his mouth. He looked up at Andrew in terror, stuttering, โ€œY-Youโ€ฆโ€

Andrew ignored him, turning to Lauren as if nothing had happened. โ€œLetโ€™s go, Ms. Rhodes.โ€

Laurenโ€™s eyes were wide with shock. Andrew, seemingly gentle and refined, was incredibly fierce in a fight. She dismissed the notion of him being merely a โ€œboy toy.โ€ His medical skills and fighting prowess made him a hidden gem. A thrill surged through her; she had stumbled upon a real find. She smiled seductively, starting the car and driving toward South City.

โ€œDr. Lloyd, first you saved Cece, and now me. I donโ€™t know how to thank you,โ€ Lauren said, her interest growing.

Andrew replied politely, โ€œI really didnโ€™t do much. But Ms. Rhodes, be careful. These men might be connected to Ceceโ€™s attackers.โ€

Laurenโ€™s expression hardened. โ€œI have a good idea whoโ€™s behind this. Theyโ€™ll learn the Rhodes family isnโ€™t to be trifled with, and theyโ€™ll pay tenfold!โ€

From the back seat, Cecelia chimed in sweetly, โ€œLauren, Dr. Lloyd has helped us so much. Shouldnโ€™t we reward him?โ€

Lauren nodded. โ€œYouโ€™re right. We should thank Dr. Lloyd properly.โ€

Ceceliaโ€™s eyes twinkled mischievously. โ€œLauren, I have a suggestion.โ€

โ€œWhatโ€™s that?โ€

โ€œWell, since he didnโ€™t want our familyโ€™s Black Gold Card, why donโ€™t you reward himโ€ฆ personally?โ€

โ€œOh, you little brat! I ought to wash your mouth out with soapโ€ฆโ€

Andrew felt uncomfortable. Laurenโ€™s face flushed, but she maintained her composure, turning to Andrew. โ€œDr. Lloyd, please donโ€™t mind my sister. She doesnโ€™t think before she speaks.โ€

Andrew smiled awkwardly. However, Lauren added, โ€œThough I wouldnโ€™t mind Ceceโ€™s suggestion if thatโ€™s what you want.โ€

Andrew was speechless. Lauren was undeniably alluring. Born into privilege, she possessed grace, striking beauty, and a captivating figure. Unlike Christinaโ€™s cold beauty, Lauren was passionate and fiery, with full lips and curves that were undeniably attractive.

Andrew had seen many beautiful women, but Laurenโ€™s charm was overwhelming. Catching a glimpse of his slightly embarrassed expression in the rearview mirror, Lauren giggled. She hadnโ€™t expected his shyness, and it amused her. Countless men had pursued her, but Andrew was intriguing. Perhaps, she thought, he was worth pursuing.

South City Orphanage was located on the southern outskirts of Jayrodale, on a large, undeveloped plot of land coveted by Jayrodaleโ€™s business community. That nightโ€™s fundraising gala, aimed at facilitating the orphanageโ€™s relocation, attracted Jayrodaleโ€™s most influential families and businesses.

As night fell, the courtyard transformed. A red carpet welcomed Jayrodaleโ€™s elite and their glamorous dates.

โ€œMs. Rhodes, welcome!โ€ The orphanage director greeted Lauren. His eyes lit up upon seeing her companion. โ€œDr. Lloyd, youโ€™re here too? Oh my, the children and I have been eagerly awaiting you!โ€

Orphans swarmed around Andrew, calling, โ€œAndy!โ€ Lauren was surprised; this humble doctorโ€™s popularity eclipsed her status as the Rhodes Corporation heiress.

VIP guests approached Lauren. She smiled, thinking sheโ€™d regained the spotlight. โ€œDr. Lloyd, let me introduce you to some CEOs,โ€ she said.

To her astonishment, the guests recognized Andrew first.

โ€œOh, isnโ€™t this Dr. Lloyd from Jayrodale General Hospital? Hello, hello! Iโ€™m James Campbell. Itโ€™s thanks to your miraculous treatment that I can walk again!โ€

โ€œDr. Lloyd, what an honor! Remember me? I had pregnancy problems. Thanks to you, we now have a one-year-old. Our family line is secured!โ€

โ€œHey, Dr. Lloyd! I owe you a drink tonight. If it werenโ€™t for you, I wouldโ€™ve been out of the game at 60. Now Iโ€™m still going strong!โ€

Lauren was dumbfounded. These VIPs eagerly greeted Andrew. His connections were extraordinaryโ€”far beyond a simple doctorโ€™s.

Bidding farewell to the guests, Andrew apologetically shrugged at Lauren. โ€œSorry about that, Ms. Rhodes. They were all former patients. To be honest, I can barely remember them.โ€

Lauren smirked. โ€œDr. Lloyd, youโ€™re quite the dark horse, arenโ€™t you?โ€

Little did she know, Andrew truly couldn't recall these Jayrodale bigwigs.
