Chapter 52
Christina said, "Harvey, this medicinal pill is too preciousโyou should keep it."
Harvey smiled warmly. "Christie, my love for you is worth far more than this pill. I'd give you ten if needed. Besides, this is a token of respect for Mr. Stevens Senior. His health has always been fragile, and this will help restore his vitality."
The Stevens family beamed with approval. Irene asked, "Dad, isn't your future grandson-in-law just perfect?"
Leroy chimed in, "Only someone like Harvey is worthy of being Christie's husband."
Suddenly, a calm voice cut through the praise and laughter. "This isn't a genuine medicinal pill, and Mr. Stevens Senior shouldn't take it."
After a moment of stunned silence, Irene roared, "Andrew, what nonsense are you spouting? If it's not a medicinal pill, then what is it?"
"Andrew, you're just jealous because Harvey brought something so incredible," Leroy mocked. Even the experienced Gerald looked at Andrew and declared, "Andy, this is a medicinal pill. I'd recognize that unique aroma anywhere."
Andrew calmly explained, "I know this pill's formula and production process. This is a common health supplement mimicking the scent. It may seem similar, but it's completely different from the real thing."
His serious explanation was met with mocking laughter.
"He's just a small-time doctor, yet he claims to know the secret formula and production. What a joke!"
"It's the Mistveil Peak Grandmaster's secret technique, and you say you know it? Have some shame!"
"What a ridiculous claim!"
Irene and Leroy's insults were biting, full of disdain and scorn.
Christina frowned. "Andrew, you may know something about medicine, but the medicinal pill is a closely guarded secret of Mistveil Peak. Claiming you know about it is ridiculous, especially when Uncle Gerald confirms it's genuine."
Harvey, who had been watching silently, chimed in, "Since Andrew claims my pill is fake, perhaps he could explain exactly how?"
"A fake is a fake. What more explanation is needed?" Andrew retorted.
Harvey sighed with feigned patience. "Andrew, I think there's been a misunderstanding. Perhaps you're upset about Christie and me, but this pill was obtained at great expense through my connections at Mistveil Peak. Don't you think it's going too far to insult my sincere gift like this?"
His words immediately stirred the family's sympathy as they glared at Andrew in disgust.
Irene scolded, "Andrew, if you can't say anything nice, then you're welcome to leave!" Christina added coldly, "Andrew, that's enough. It's one thing to be incompetent, but being unable to accept others' success makes you truly pathetic."
Leroy scoffed. "Christie, Harvey, why bother with this loser? His words aren't worth anything."
