Chapter 507
The Rhodes residence was massive. After leaving Laurenโs bedroom, Tiana made her way through various corridors to another wing of the mansion.
โMrs. Rhodes!โ Jerry greeted respectfully in the dimly lit hallway.
Tianaโs expression was indifferent as she asked, โJerry, is there something you need?โ
Jerry hesitated for a moment before speaking. โMrs. Rhodes, thereโs something I want to say, but Iโm not sure if I should.โ
Tiana raised a brow and stated coldly, โIf youโre here to tell me to stop meddling in Laurenโs matters, then save your breath.โ
Jerry carefully chose his words, lowering his voice. โMrs. Rhodes, I wouldnโt dare interfere in Ms. Rhodesโ affairs, especially since this involves the familyโs leadership decisions and Mr. Rhodesโ intentions. I wanted to discuss something elseโabout Andrew.โ
โOh? What about that boy?โ Tiana asked, slightly surprised.
โMrs. Rhodes, heโs no ordinary person,โ Jerry said gravely. โIn my opinion, Mr. Rhodesโ relationship with him might not be bad for her or the Rhodes family.โ
Before he could continue, Tianaโs eyebrows furrowed as she snapped, โEnough, Jerry! Do you realize what youโre saying?โ
Jerry looked uneasy as he replied, โMrs. Rhodes, I-โ
She cut him off sharply. โJust do your job and stay out of things that donโt concern you. Like Lauren, youโre only seeing the surface and canโt grasp the bigger picture.โ
Her voice turned stern as she declared, โRemember this: my words reflect Mr. Rhodesโ intentions, and they represent the direction of the entire Rhodes family. Lauren must sever all ties with Andrew, no matter what.โ
Jerry lowered his head, suppressing a sigh. He wanted to speak up for Lauren, but it was clear that his voice carried no weight in such matters.
โUnderstood, Mrs. Rhodes,โ he murmured before stepping away.
From his perspective, Jerry genuinely believed that Andrew was not as bad as Tiana made him out to be. While the Blumedale Driscoll family was an elite dynasty with influence throughout the state, Andrewโs extraordinary talent, especially his exceptional combat skills, could even benefit the Rhodes family.
Jerry truly believed Andrew was no less impressive than Joe. Unfortunately, Tiana was adamant, and the Rhodes familyโs leadership was determined to use Lauren as a bridge for their alliance with the Driscoll family.
Against such powerful family politics, individual desires and struggles were like ripples in a vast oceanโfleeting and insignificant.
The next morning, chaos erupted within the Weller family. โThat idiot Brad, that fool! How could he get caught by the police?โ
Harveyโs furious roars echoed through the family hall.
โEverything Iโve built with the Rhodes Corporation is ruined because of him. Damn Bradโhe deserves to die!โ
When Donald personally called him, Harvey knew something serious had happened. Donaldโs questioning made it clear that this was not a minor issueโit was a disaster.
During the call, Harvey played completely ignorant, claiming a prestigious family like the Wellers would never stoop to such despicable acts and that Brad had acted alone, deserving his arrest.
He even claimed that, as head of the family, he would have punished Brad himself for tarnishing their name if the police had not caught him first.
Harvey thought his display of righteous indignation would solve the problem. Yet, by the next morning, Jayrodaleโs major media outlets and newspapers had updated their front pages with a shocking scandal.
The headlines read: [Harvey Weller, New Head of the Weller Family, Exposed for Affair with Stepmother Serena Halbert.]
The source of this bombshell? None other than Brad, who had spilled everything during police interrogation. The details were so thorough and damning that there was no room for doubtโthe evidence was irrefutable.
