Chapter 23
โAndrew, you need to leave Jayrodale, now!โ Christina urged, her eyes filled with worry.
Andrew calmly replied, โI donโt think thatโs necessary.โ
Christinaโs voice rose. โDonโt you understand? Youโre in trouble! How can you say itโs not necessary?โ
Andrew smirked. โSo what? Do you think Iโve caused trouble for your family?โ
โIsnโt that exactly whatโs happening?โ Christina retorted.
Andrew was speechless.
Irene intervened, pulling Christina away. โChristie, letโs go. This trouble is nothing to do with us. Come on, letโs leave.โ
Leroy added, โChristie, letโs go. Harvey returns tomorrow; he can help. Stevens Corporation wonโt be affected.โ
Christina nodded. โYouโre right. Harvey will sort this out. Everything will be fine.โ
She turned to Andrew, her expression complex. โAndrew, you should leave. Iโll ask Harvey to calm Dylanโs anger. Youโll be okay, but you probably canโt return to Jayrodale.โ
Andrew chuckled sarcastically. โIs that so? Ms. Stevens, youโre so generous, asking your fiancรฉ to save your exโs life. Should I prepare a thank-you gift for your powerful fiancรฉ?โ
Christina shook her head, disappointed. โYouโre hopeless. Even now, youโre still jealous.โ She added firmly, โHarvey has the power to handle Dylan. You might not like it, but itโs the truth.โ
Andrew replied coldly, โHe must be impressive. But I donโt need anyone to handle my business.โ He walked away.
Shawn approached with a friendly smile. โChristie, that loser doesnโt appreciate your help. Heโs doomed. I was forced to act that way earlier. Donโt be angry. The Fields family will help mediate.โ
Christina responded indifferently, โThat wonโt be necessary. Stevens Corporation wonโt be troubling the Fields family from now on.โ
Irene scoffed. โShawn, the Fields family should stay out of this. Youโre nothing compared to Harvey.โ
As Christinaโs family walked away, Shawnโs face darkened. โBitch! Youโll see!โ he thought bitterly.
Later that night, in a large underground fight club, over a thousand spectators cheered as two men fought. One was powerfully built, with a fierce face and a black halt-covered chest. He charged forward roaring. His opponent was an unassuming young man with a friendly smile. With lightning speed, the youth struck the big manโs throat and withdrew his hand.
The big man froze. The audience was confused. The youth had already left the ring, his follower draping a jacket over his shoulders. The big man then collapsed.
The referee announced, trembling, โHeโs dead!โ
Silence, then excited cheers. โDylan! Dylan!โ โDylan is unbeatable!โ
Dylan was known as a wolf in sheepโs clothing.
โMr. Garner, Baldy and his crew failed,โ one of Dylanโs men reported.
Dylanโs smile barely changed. โWhat happened?โ
The man replied nervously, โThey ran into trouble. One guy took them all out.โ
Dylanโs smile sharpened. โUseless. We have intel on every tough guy in Jayrodale. Whoโs going to believe some nobody took out a dozen of my best men?โ
His follower laughed nervously.
Dylan, still smiling, ordered, โEveryone who failed, cut off one of their hands. And find that guy. Send Bobby to take care of him.โ
