Chapter 23

โ€œAndrew, you need to leave Jayrodale, now!โ€ Christina urged, her eyes filled with worry.

Andrew calmly replied, โ€œI donโ€™t think thatโ€™s necessary.โ€

Christinaโ€™s voice rose. โ€œDonโ€™t you understand? Youโ€™re in trouble! How can you say itโ€™s not necessary?โ€

Andrew smirked. โ€œSo what? Do you think Iโ€™ve caused trouble for your family?โ€

โ€œIsnโ€™t that exactly whatโ€™s happening?โ€ Christina retorted.

Andrew was speechless.

Irene intervened, pulling Christina away. โ€œChristie, letโ€™s go. This trouble is nothing to do with us. Come on, letโ€™s leave.โ€

Leroy added, โ€œChristie, letโ€™s go. Harvey returns tomorrow; he can help. Stevens Corporation wonโ€™t be affected.โ€

Christina nodded. โ€œYouโ€™re right. Harvey will sort this out. Everything will be fine.โ€

She turned to Andrew, her expression complex. โ€œAndrew, you should leave. Iโ€™ll ask Harvey to calm Dylanโ€™s anger. Youโ€™ll be okay, but you probably canโ€™t return to Jayrodale.โ€

Andrew chuckled sarcastically. โ€œIs that so? Ms. Stevens, youโ€™re so generous, asking your fiancรฉ to save your exโ€™s life. Should I prepare a thank-you gift for your powerful fiancรฉ?โ€

Christina shook her head, disappointed. โ€œYouโ€™re hopeless. Even now, youโ€™re still jealous.โ€ She added firmly, โ€œHarvey has the power to handle Dylan. You might not like it, but itโ€™s the truth.โ€

Andrew replied coldly, โ€œHe must be impressive. But I donโ€™t need anyone to handle my business.โ€ He walked away.

Shawn approached with a friendly smile. โ€œChristie, that loser doesnโ€™t appreciate your help. Heโ€™s doomed. I was forced to act that way earlier. Donโ€™t be angry. The Fields family will help mediate.โ€

Christina responded indifferently, โ€œThat wonโ€™t be necessary. Stevens Corporation wonโ€™t be troubling the Fields family from now on.โ€

Irene scoffed. โ€œShawn, the Fields family should stay out of this. Youโ€™re nothing compared to Harvey.โ€

As Christinaโ€™s family walked away, Shawnโ€™s face darkened. โ€˜Bitch! Youโ€™ll see!โ€™ he thought bitterly.

Later that night, in a large underground fight club, over a thousand spectators cheered as two men fought. One was powerfully built, with a fierce face and a black halt-covered chest. He charged forward roaring. His opponent was an unassuming young man with a friendly smile. With lightning speed, the youth struck the big manโ€™s throat and withdrew his hand.

The big man froze. The audience was confused. The youth had already left the ring, his follower draping a jacket over his shoulders. The big man then collapsed.

The referee announced, trembling, โ€œHeโ€™s dead!โ€

Silence, then excited cheers. โ€œDylan! Dylan!โ€ โ€œDylan is unbeatable!โ€

Dylan was known as a wolf in sheepโ€™s clothing.

โ€œMr. Garner, Baldy and his crew failed,โ€ one of Dylanโ€™s men reported.

Dylanโ€™s smile barely changed. โ€œWhat happened?โ€

The man replied nervously, โ€œThey ran into trouble. One guy took them all out.โ€

Dylanโ€™s smile sharpened. โ€œUseless. We have intel on every tough guy in Jayrodale. Whoโ€™s going to believe some nobody took out a dozen of my best men?โ€

His follower laughed nervously.

Dylan, still smiling, ordered, โ€œEveryone who failed, cut off one of their hands. And find that guy. Send Bobby to take care of him.โ€
