Chapter 2233

Philip stared at Luna until she felt chills run down her spine. Then, he finally said, โ€œYes, Andrewโ€™s codename in the organization was Shadow. Since youโ€™re so determined to know and youโ€™ve been digging around relentlessly, ignoring all my warnings, Iโ€™ll tell you everything tonight.

โ€œHe had many codenames: Shadow, Lone Wolf, Zero Hour, The Silencer, and the one the Western underground knew best: Death. All of these were Andrewโ€™s former identities. He could be anyone, do anything, including executing a major general like you, all within the organizationโ€™s authority.โ€

Lunaโ€™s face grew progressively paler. Finally, she gritted her teeth and said, โ€œSo heโ€™s an executioner, a selfish coward who values his own life above others. A squad like Iron Cavalry was placed under his command, and in the end, only he crawled back alive like a dog, right?

โ€œHe was the organizationโ€™s golden boy, a candidate for future leadership with incredible power. He could dispose of military major generals at will. I donโ€™t see any of this as honorโ€ฆ Itโ€™s all a disgrace!โ€

Philip let out a cold, disdainful laugh. โ€œDisgrace? Luna, let me ask you somethingโ€ฆ How old are you?โ€

This random question caught Luna off guard, but she responded defiantly. โ€œIโ€™m twenty-nine years, six months, and three days old today. Sir, what does this have to do with our discussion?โ€

Philip suddenly roared, โ€œThe connection is that youโ€™ve wasted every single one of those years! Youโ€™re foolish! Stupid beyond belief! And itโ€™s not just you. Conrad is just as much of an idiot. Thatโ€™s why, after he returned to Chetvine, I gave him a direct order. He is never to set foot in my residence again. He is no longer my student, period.โ€

Lunaโ€™s face went ashen as she croaked, โ€œWhy? Why do you act so strangely every time Andrewโ€™s name comes up?โ€

Philip shot to his feet, his eyes blazing with fury as he yanked at his military uniform. Finally, he snarled through gritted teeth, โ€œBecause Iโ€™ve already taught you both something crucial: If you donโ€™t know the truth, donโ€™t jump to conclusions.

โ€œYouโ€™re a soldier, and your job is to follow orders from your superiors. I am your superior, and I told you to stop prying. Did you listen?โ€

His shouts grew louder with each word.

Strangely enough, the other personnel in the command center acted as if they heard nothing, continuing their duties. In reality, everyone had their ears perked up, listening intently to every word.

Nonetheless, Philipโ€™s reputation was too fearsome, and his methods were too harsh for anyone to dare interrupt. They could only pretend to know nothing.

โ€œLuna, the first rule for a soldier is to obey orders. Whatโ€™s the second rule I taught you? Answer me!โ€ Philip bellowed, his expression terrifying.

Luna could not help but shudder, stammering fearfully, โ€œThe second rule is that life comes above everything else. As a qualified commander, you cannot casually send your soldiers into danger without clear intelligence about the battlefield, enemy situation, and circumstances. Because every soldierโ€™s life is the most precious thing in this world.โ€

Philip slammed his palm down on the table with thunderous force, sneering coldly. โ€œSo you know that every soldierโ€™s life is precious. Do you think Andrew is as stupid as you and Conrad, that he doesnโ€™t know this?

โ€œDo you really believe Iron Cavalry was wiped out while he alone survived because he was a coward? Do you honestly think their enemies, the Dark Trinity known as the Spear of Death, are also idiots?

โ€œThey eliminated every member of Iron Cavalry but conveniently spared him, letting him return to continue being the Westโ€™s greatest threat? Please, use your brain and think this through.

โ€œThis should be obvious to anyone with half a brain, but Conrad has never figured it out. I never imagined youโ€™d be just as stupid. Thatโ€™s not how I trained you.โ€

Lunaโ€™s face shifted from pale to deathly white, then to a sickly gray. Even the last traces of color drained from her complexion completely.

Her lips trembled as she whispered, โ€œAre you saying Conrad and I have been wrong about him all along? The truth isnโ€™t what we thought it was?โ€
