Listen to this chapter:

Margaret had already heard Natasha was back, so she expected Jim to drag her in soon. However, instead of Natasha being captured, what came through the hall was Jim himself, dragged across the floor like a rag doll.

Margaretโ€™s face twisted with fury as she shot up from her seat at the far end of the hall.

โ€œWho the hell are you? Who gave you the nerve to lay a hand on my Langley familyโ€™s men?โ€

Andrew said flatly, โ€œWho I am doesnโ€™t matter. I came to tell you that from now on, Natasha has nothing to do with the Langley family, and her family has no ties with you either.โ€

Margaretโ€™s voice thundered, โ€œYou insolent brat! How dare you meddle in our familyโ€™s affairs?! Are you courting death? I see nowโ€ฆ Natasha dragged you here to stand up for her, didnโ€™t she? Fine, if you want to play her hero, then Iโ€™ll make sure neither of you gets what you want. This bitch will never escape the Langley familyโ€™s graspโ€ฆ not in this lifetime!โ€

Andrew frowned and flung Jim onto the ground. โ€œWhat, do you want to end up just like this piece of trash? Listen, old woman, I donโ€™t want to hurt you because of your age, but my patience has limits.โ€

Margaret slammed her cane forward, pointing at him. โ€œSuch arrogance! You really think I, and the entire Langley family, fear you? Donโ€™t think a little strength gives you the right to shout in front of me. Fine, Iโ€™ll crush you first, and then Iโ€™ll make Natasha suffer until she begs for death!โ€

With that, Margaretโ€™s frail-looking body suddenly shot across the hall. Her cane sliced through the air like a weapon, carrying a vicious wind aimed straight at Andrewโ€™s face.

Natasha gasped and cried out, โ€œDarling, watch out! That cane is rigged with hidden blades!โ€

A loud clank echoed in the room.

Andrew dodged, but the caneโ€™s tips snapped open to reveal sharp steel edges. Margaret cackled as she whipped the weapon across Andrewโ€™s arm.

โ€œBold little brat! To speak to me that way, I donโ€™t care who you areโ€ฆ Iโ€™ll rip your arm right off!โ€ she shrieked, already imagining the satisfying snap of bone.

Yet, instead of snapping, Andrewโ€™s sleeve tore and nothing else. His skin had not even been scratched.

He said coldly, โ€œThe only reason I let that slide was because Natasha once married into your family. That mercy has ended. You are cunning, and against anyone else, your little tricks might have worked. But I, Andrew Lloyd, am not just anyone. You dared strike me, so donโ€™t blame me for what happens next.โ€

A murderous glint filled his eyes as he bared his teeth. He was not going to hold back anymore. This old hag needed to be taught what real fear felt like.

Andrew struck with both palms, unleashing crushing force.

Margaret swung her cane wildly to block, but it felt like two mountains slamming down on her chest. Her face went pale as she swallowed back blood, stumbling in retreat.

However, Andrew soared into the air and swung a brutal kick at her throat.

Margaret shrieked, tossing her cane aside as she flipped backward in desperation. Yet Andrew abruptly pulled the kick short, shifting instantly to rush her. In the blink of an eye, his hand clamped around her neck.

Margaretโ€™s eyes bulged in shock. She gasped. โ€œYouโ€ฆโ€

Andrew lifted her effortlessly and slammed her down at the far end of the hall. Her body crashed into the grand wooden chair, shattering it to splinters, and she spewed out a mouthful of blood.

Andrew planted one foot on her head. โ€œNow, can we have a proper conversation?โ€

Though his voice was calm, the cold edge in his voice froze Margaret to the core.

Trembling, she croaked, โ€œYโ€“Yes! Please, forgive us! We admit our mistakes. We repent! Whatever orders you give, weโ€™ll obey them to the letter, I swear!โ€

The sight of her groveling nearly made Jim burst with shame. Margaret was the Langley familyโ€™s matriarch, a martial saint. Yet, she had been utterly crushed like nothing.

He could not believe that Andrew was not just strong; he seemed undefeatable.
