โClimb over here and follow me!โ Cordelia whispered.
She moved quickly, and after helping the two men over, she immediately took the lead. Andrew and Eric said nothing and hurried to keep up with her. The spot where they had climbed into the estate happened to be empty.
Cordelia explained, โI sent the McDaniel familyโs patrol guards away. If we run into anyone questioning us, donโt say a word.โ
As soon as she finished speaking, they passed through an archway. Inside the compound, guards watched vigilantly every dozen steps or so. The security was incredibly tight.
โHold it! What are you two doing here?โ As expected, they were stopped.
Andrew kept his expression neutral and looked toward Cordelia. With the black silk scarf covering the lower half of her face, Cordelia said flatly, โThese two are with us. Let us through!โ
The guard stared at Andrew and Eric for a moment. Then, he waved his hand, signaling they could pass.
Only after they had walked quite a distance did Eric dare to breathe a sigh of relief. He said, โLooks like not all of the McDaniel family recognizes us.โ
Andrew said calmly, โDonโt worry. Apart from Callum and that McDaniel family expert from before, the McDaniel family still doesnโt have complete information about us.โ
Along the way, they encountered several more checkpoints. Finally, under Cordeliaโs guidance, they entered one of the rooms in the McDaniel family estate. As soon as they were inside, Cordelia locked the door and pulled off her black scarf.
Andrew smiled. โThanks for this.โ
Cordelia looked at him for a moment, her face reddening. โDonโt mention it. You saved my life before. But this is all I can help you with. Youโll have to find the saintess on your own.โ
Eric looked surprised. โYou mean you donโt know where she is either?โ
Cordelia shook her head. โI donโt! All I know is that the high priest has already arrived at the McDaniel family estate. Right now, heโs meeting with the head of the McDaniel family. Beyond that, I donโt know anything else.โ
Eric was about to ask more questions when Andrew interrupted. โNo point in asking more. Cordeliaโs just a regular cult member, and the Crimson Flame Cultโs leadership would never casually reveal Shilohโs location.โ
Then, he looked at Cordelia. โYou didnโt run into any trouble when you went back earlier, did you?โ
Cordelia shook her head. โNot at all. I should head back now, though. If Iโm gone too long, they might get suspicious.โ
Andrew nodded. โYeah. Youโd better go back. Donโt worry about anything else.โ
Cordelia hesitated for a moment, then said quietly, โBe careful, Andrew.โ
Andrew was slightly taken aback, then smiled. โYou be careful too, Cordelia.โ
After she left, Eric laughed so hard he clutched his stomach. โBe careful, Andrew! My God, she said it so sweetly. Iโm telling you, she has a crush on you.โ
He explained, โIn Auqania, the women are tougher than most. Life is hard and brutal, so they grow up cold and ruthless. But if someone truly treats them well, shows them warmth, theyโll repay it with everything, even if it means sleeping with you, even if it means serving you for life.โ
Andrewโs expression remained blank. โSo what? Whatโs your point in telling me all this?โ
Eric shrugged. โNo point really. Just wanted to let you know that she has probably got the hots for you.โ
Andrew said flatly, โYouโre ridiculous.โ
He walked over and pushed open the window. Cordelia proved to be thoughtful, choosing a room that gave them a clear view of the front of the McDaniel family estate. From Andrewโs vantage point, he could see hundreds of people gathered in the front area of the McDaniel family estate, offering their congratulations. Among them were Henry and Grace. However, he did not see anyone from the McCormick family.
After thinking about it briefly, Andrew understood what was happening. Henry probably wanted to keep Shiloh all to himself, so he had not informed the McCormick family that Shiloh had been brought over.
