Chapter 2067

Soon after, Riker arrived at the villa with several of the Hidden Dragons' best fighters.

โ€œMr. Fischer, you sent for me?โ€ Riker asked, bowing respectfully.

Henryโ€™s voice was cold. โ€œItโ€™s time to make a move. I want you to capture one of the Blues' leaders and bring him to me. I have a use for him.โ€

Riker frowned. โ€œBut Mr. Fischer, once we strike, it means weโ€™re openly at war with the Blues. Thatโ€™s not wise.โ€

Henry gave a harsh snort. โ€œTo hell with being wise. Right now, I only care about finding the saintess. Do it. Whatever happens afterward, Iโ€™ll take full responsibility.โ€

โ€œUnderstood, Mr. Fischer,โ€ Riker said quickly before withdrawing.

Just as he left, someone else walked straight into the villa.

Henry turned, and his eyes lit up in surprise. โ€œEric, youโ€™ve come back to me?โ€

Ericโ€™s gaze was complicated. โ€œMr. Fischer, I came to tell you that from now on, there will be nothing between us.โ€

The joy on Henryโ€™s face drained away, replaced by a cold smile. โ€œNothing between us? So youโ€™re set on being a free bird, flying away and never returning, is that it?โ€

Eric shook his head. โ€œIโ€™ve thought a lot these past days. What we had was just a partnership. Beyond that, there is nothing else. I donโ€™t owe you, and you donโ€™t owe me. Thatโ€™s all. So Iโ€™ll take my leave.โ€

He turned to go, but Henry blurred across the room, blocking the door. โ€œStop! I still have something to say!โ€

Eric narrowed his eyes. โ€œWhat do you want?โ€

Henry stared at him and asked bluntly, โ€œWhy? Why did you betray me?โ€

Eric let out a mocking laugh. โ€œBetray you? I was never yours to begin with. So how could I betray you?โ€

Henry stepped closer. โ€œEric, donโ€™t forget that right now, the whole world sees you as a traitor. You betrayed Mr. Thornton, and countless people want you dead. Following Andrew will get you nowhere. Only with me can you have endless power, wealth, and safety.โ€

Ericโ€™s expression stayed flat. โ€œThe old me might have been swayed by that. But the man I am now doesnโ€™t care about such things. When this is over, Iโ€™ll find Dad, apologize sincerely, and accept whatever punishment he sees fit.โ€

Henryโ€™s chest tightened. He could tell that Ericโ€™s resolve was unshakable, and he was really going to walk away.

His composure broke, and he roared, โ€œWait! Eric, once a traitor, always a traitor. Do you really think Andrew can protect you? And donโ€™t forget that he knows everything about us. Sooner or later, heโ€™ll see you for what you are and throw you out like trash.โ€

Ericโ€™s face paled, but he stayed silent, his jaw clenched.

Henryโ€™s heart sank. Eric was not just his man, but he was also a powerful weapon. Phantom Mirage alone made him invaluable. Yet now, this asset was slipping from his grasp.

Henryโ€™s voice was low and venomous. โ€œEric, Iโ€™ll ask you one last thing. Youโ€™re not seriously in love with Andrew, are you? Donโ€™t be a fool. He likes women. He has no interest in men. You play that game, and one day heโ€™ll find out what you are and call you a freak.โ€

Eric finally snapped. โ€œShut up, Henry! My thoughts arenโ€™t as filthy as you think.โ€

Henry sneered. โ€œNot as filthy? Then what does your blind loyalty to Andrew mean? Donโ€™t forget that youโ€™re a traitor, no matter how you dress it up.โ€
