Chapter 1990

Andrew shook his head with a grin. โ€œYouโ€™re giving me too much credit. Do you know how much sweat and money it took to build this body of mine through external training?

โ€œTo be honest, when I was a kid, they threw me into a pit with wild beasts, and I had to fight my way out. Either I toughened up, or I died. You call that easy? I canโ€™t exactly put Fran through that, can I?โ€

Eric chuckled but said nothing. External arts were hard enough, but Andrewโ€™s were downright monstrous. He thought maybe they really were forged through battling animals.

If that was true, Eric figured this skill was not worth learning. After all, he had been raised by Jerome and pampered despite being an adopted son. He had never endured such hardship.

Natasha spoke up, her tone worried. โ€œDarling, Lauren and the others have held out long enough. The Driscoll familyโ€™s Shadow Division isnโ€™t a bunch of amateurs. If this goes on much longer, something could go wrong.โ€

Andrewโ€™s voice was calm. โ€œGive them three more minutes, then you can step in. An opportunity like this for real combat training doesnโ€™t come often.โ€

Dylan cracked his knuckles. โ€œFine. Three minutes later, Iโ€™ll go get some training myself.โ€

Just then, Andrewโ€™s phone rang.

It was Logan, his voice full of fury. โ€œAndy, Supreme Capital Group just got torched by the Driscoll family. Everything inside was stripped clean!โ€

Andrewโ€™s expression did not change. โ€œGot it.โ€

Then, he hung up.

Tiana had overheard and frowned. โ€œWas the loss serious?โ€

Andrew shrugged. โ€œDoesnโ€™t matter. If Maurice can only play these little games, it just makes me look down on him even more.โ€ Before the words had fully left his mouth, another call came in.

It was Aaron.

Andrew answered, but for a moment, all he could hear was heavy breathing on the other end.

Frowning, Andrew asked, โ€œSomething happened on your turf?โ€

It sounded like Aaron spat before speaking, his voice ragged. โ€œAndrew, my place is finished. From now on, Blumedale has no White Dragon King. Itโ€™s just me, alone.โ€

โ€œThe Driscoll familyโ€™s doing, right?โ€ Andrew asked quietly.

Aaron gritted his teeth. โ€œYeah. I finally got hit with Mauriceโ€™s wrath. I thought the money you brought in might be a small bite for them, but hell, it was like choking on a bone, jammed me up good. My men are all dead or gone. Overnight, Iโ€™m stripped bare. Iโ€™ve got to keep running. The Driscoll familyโ€™s two old monsters are right on my ass.โ€

Andrew could hear that Aaron was clearly devastated but trying to act cool, as if losing everything did not matter to him at all. It almost made him laugh.

He said, โ€œAaron, since youโ€™re now a lone dog, why donโ€™t you just come over here? There are plenty of people around, so you wonโ€™t feel lonely. We can eat and drink together, maybe even get some rest.โ€

Aaron immediately declined. โ€œIโ€™m not interested. Iโ€™ve got hundreds of billions in cash now, so I can live it up anywhere I want. Iโ€™m not about to come work for you.โ€
