Chapter 1907

Back at the hotel, Theo spat angrily as he glared at the door. โ€œUgh! Whatโ€™s so great about that bastard?! If it werenโ€™t for Ms. Garcia, I wouldโ€™ve taught that punk a lesson myself!โ€

Emily said flatly, โ€œEnough. Finish eating. After this, weโ€™re going to arrest Hank.โ€

Theo puffed up with confidence. โ€œDonโ€™t worry, Emily. Iโ€™ll personally take him down and drag him back to Blumedale so Mr. Keller Senior can deal with him. This is the perfect chance for me to make things official between us!โ€

Emily seemed distracted. โ€œLetโ€™s just focus on catching Hank first. Handle that jerk, and then weโ€™ll talk. Theo, you know I donโ€™t like it when you rush things.โ€

Theo gave her a charming grin. โ€œI get it, Emily. A queen like you isnโ€™t easy to win over. But itโ€™s fine, I have plenty of patience and ability to win your heart!โ€

Emily forced a smile. โ€œTheo, you and your guys, plus mine. Are you sure itโ€™s enough to take down Hank? If not, Iโ€™d like to reach out for outside help.โ€

Theo immediately shut that down with a confident smirk. โ€œNo need, Emily. Donโ€™t trouble yourself. To be real with you, I alone can handle Hank. That guy might be a martial king, but so am I. For you, Iโ€™d fight till Iโ€™m broken and bleeding, just to take that dog out.โ€

Emily smiled faintly. โ€œThank you, Theo. That means a lot.โ€

Theo chuckled, eyes gleaming. โ€œYou know what I want in return. Not much. Just once. Deal?โ€

Emily hesitated, uncomfortable with the idea, but forced herself to nod. โ€œFine. After this is overโ€ฆ Iโ€™ll think about it.โ€

โ€œMr. Armstrong, where are you?โ€ Chantelle called while dialing his number from the road.

Still in bed after a steamy night, Hank had not gotten up yet. โ€œMs. Garcia, Iโ€™m tracking a group right now. Whatโ€™s up? If itโ€™s nothing urgent, Iโ€™ll hang up. Theyโ€™re slippery, but they wonโ€™t escape me.โ€

In truth, Hank was lying in bed with a naked woman, casually talking nonsense.

Chantelle replied, โ€œNo, itโ€™s justโ€ฆ I found a lead. Thought youโ€™d want in on the action.โ€

Hank sounded heroic. โ€œNo need. You go ahead and investigate. Things are dangerous on my end. Once Iโ€™m done, Iโ€™ll find you.โ€

Chantelle ended the call with a scowl.

Andrew was driving, following the directions from Dirk, the scrawny informant.

Chantelle sneered, โ€œHank said heโ€™s tracking suspects. That sleazebag is getting more disgusting by the day.โ€

Andrew raised an eyebrow. โ€œOkay, heโ€™s lying, sureโ€ฆ But why are you so pissed?โ€

Chantelle clenched her teeth. โ€œThat shameless scumbag is literally sleeping with someone! I heard moaning in the background! And yet he talked like nothing was happening, all calm and righteous. Disgusting!โ€

Andrew said nothing.

Eric, in the front passenger seat, stayed silent too. From the back, Dirk gave a nervous little chuckle.

โ€œSir, weโ€™re here. Thatโ€™s the place!โ€ Dirk quickly pointed as the car slowed in front of a suburban villa.

Andrew and the others did not move yet. They stayed seated inside the car.

Chantelle asked, โ€œYouโ€™re sure this is Coleโ€™s place?โ€

Dirk nodded. โ€œPositive. Mr. Nielsenโ€™s house is right here! This is Verhampton Valleyโ€™s wealthy district, where houses cost millions.โ€

Andrew said, โ€œGood. Letโ€™s move. Weโ€™re taking him in.โ€

Suddenly, Dirk shouted, โ€œWait, sir!โ€

Andrew turned to him.

Dirk scratched his head. โ€œAlmost forgot to warn you that Mr. Nielsenโ€™s creepy as hell. Heโ€™s always got bugs crawling out of his sleeves or socks. Some are venomous, some mess with your head. Even local thugs donโ€™t like messing with him. Even Big Z keeps his distance.โ€

Chantelle snorted. โ€œPeople who play with parasites usually spend all day with snakes, rats, and bugs. Iโ€™m not worried. Letโ€™s go. Iโ€™ll bring him in myself.โ€

They got out of the car and approached the front door of the villa.

The door was locked, but Andrew grabbed the handle and gave it a solid twist.

A surge of internal force quietly shattered the lock from within. With a gentle push, the door creaked open.

Inside, the first floor was dim and quiet. Chantelle moved in first, gun drawn and steady.

She did not notice a few strands of spiderweb catching on her clothes. As she brushed them off in annoyance, she did not think much of it.

However, Andrew frowned and suddenly muttered, โ€œSomethingโ€™s not right.โ€

Right then, a sound echoed from the second floor.
