Chapter 1904
Seeing how obedient Dirk looked, Andrew pulled out a small vial from his pocket. โThis bottle is yours, right?โ
Dirk gave a sheepish laugh. โYeah, itโs mine. Mr. Nielsen told me to dump whateverโs inside into your food or drinks. As for whatโs actually in itโฆ Iโve got no clue.โ
Andrew stopped paying attention to him and turned to Eric.
Eric said calmly, โThe vial contains parasite eggs. So, that means Cole is the one behind it.โ
Andrew nodded. โPretty much. Still, I didnโt expect to find a martial artist dealing in parasites in a little town like Verhampton Valley.โ
Dirk looked up hopefully. โSir, Iโve told you everything I know. Can I go now?โ
Andrew shook his head. โNope. Youโre going to die here.โ
Dirkโs vision went black, and he immediately dropped to his knees, nearly soiling himself. He could already tell that Andrew was definitely not an ordinary person.
โOf course, if you want me to spare your life, thatโs not impossible either.โ Andrew gave him a glimmer of hope at just the right moment.
Dirk felt like he had received a royal pardon and quickly said, โSir, just tell me what you want! If you let me go, youโll be my savior! I swear, my mother and I will light candles and pray for you every single day!โ
Andrew waved him off. โSave it. Iโm not dead yet, so I donโt need your prayer service. When the sun comes up, youโre taking me to see Cole. Also, I want to ask you about someone. Have you heard the name Hank Armstrong?โ
Dirk wasnโt quite sure. โHank Armstrong? Never heard of him! But recently, an important big shot came to our Verhampton Valley! I heard heโs from some special government agency, and both Mr. Nielsen and Big Z personally received him!โ
Andrewโs heart stirred. โDoes this so-called big shot have a name? What do they call him?โ
Dirk shook his head. โHow would a small fry like me be qualified to know such an important personโs name! I only know that Mr. Nielsen addresses him as Mr. Armstrong!โ
Andrew sneered coldly. โMr. Armstrongโฆ Thatโs got to be that bastard Hank! Alright, everythingโs going pretty much as I expected! Dawn is still a while away, so you can sleep here!โ
Dirk looked like he wanted to protest, but one glance at Andrewโs face shut him up. He turned around, planning to make do in the corner. Just then, something slammed into the back of his head.
He just felt his head go numb, and then his whole body collapsed to the floor.
Right before he passed out, Dirkโs last thought was, โCheap shot! What happened to honor?โ
Looking at Dirk, Eric frowned. โWhy did you do that? This guyโs no longer of any useโฆ Wouldnโt it be better to just let him go? Or just kill him outright and be done with it!โ
Andrew said flatly, โWe canโt let him leave yet, or weโll alert them to our presence! As for killing people, remember this: donโt treat life like itโs worthless! What goes around comes around. Now we can basically confirm that Hank is colluding with the local forces in Verhampton Valley.โ
He added, โAnd Cole is the key figure behind the parasite poisoning. Once we get him, the whole web starts to unravel.โ
Eric scoffed. โHow much trouble can a martial artist from a small county cause? Itโs obvious he has bigger forces backing him up. Like that Hank you mentionedโฆ Didnโt you say heโs from the Special Ops? Special Ops isnโt a place ordinary people can mess with, and you should know that.โ
Andrewโs tone didnโt shift. โExactly. Which is why Iโm going to mess with him. That bastard might be with Special Ops, but all he does is screw people over. I donโt care who he works for. Heโs going down.โ
Eric stared at him for a moment, then turned toward the bed and shut his eyes.
