Listen to this chapter:

Andrew shut Rachel down without hesitation. โ€œKeep your money. Iโ€™m not desperate enough to let you pay for this!โ€

Rachel insisted. โ€œFor you, Iโ€™m willing to spend that much!โ€

Andrewโ€™s expression darkened. โ€œI said donโ€™t spend the money, so donโ€™t spend it. Itโ€™s just finding the real culprit behind this. You really think itโ€™s worth 100 million?โ€

Aaron was not pleased when he heard this and scoffed. โ€œMr. Lloyd, since you think 100 million is too expensive, just forget what I said! I hope you think it through clearly because someoneโ€™s still got their sights set on your life! Donโ€™t you want to find out who it is and eliminate this threat once and for all?โ€

Andrew grinned. โ€œOf course I do, so I still need Ronald to give me some advice!โ€

Ronaldโ€™s eyelid twitched as he said stiffly, โ€œI donโ€™t know what you mean. I canโ€™t advise if I donโ€™t even know who the real culprit is.โ€

Andrewโ€™s smile grew wider. โ€œAre you sure you donโ€™t?โ€

Ronaldโ€™s face turned ugly. โ€œI donโ€™t. And if I did, why would I hide it? Andy, youโ€™re overthinking this, and honestly, youโ€™re giving me too much credit. Whoeverโ€™s behind this clearly isnโ€™t some average thug. Iโ€™m not a damn psychic, and I canโ€™t know everything.โ€

Andrew let out a cold chuckle. โ€œCut the act, will you? If you didnโ€™t know, your reaction just now wouldnโ€™t have given you away. Remember what you said earlier? That you canโ€™t get involved? What exactly are you not getting involved in? Sounds like whoeverโ€™s behind this is someone you either canโ€™t afford to cross or donโ€™t want to betray. Or maybeโ€ฆ itโ€™s you. Maybe thatโ€™s why youโ€™ve been talking in circles and playing with smoke and mirrors.โ€

Ronaldโ€™s expression turned downright ugly because Andrewโ€™s sharp deduction had hit a nerve. Despite how careful he had been, Andrew still managed to sniff him out.

The others began catching on, too, and they all turned toward Ronald, eyes narrowing.

โ€œMr. Potter, do us all a favor. If you know whoโ€™s behind this, just say it,โ€ Duncan said with a snort.

Rachelโ€™s face was stone cold. โ€œMr. Potter, the one who got attacked is our Chairman. If you stay silent, everyone in the Gabo Creek Chamber of Commerce will remember this.โ€

Aaron chuckled. โ€œSo you do know whatโ€™s going on, huh, Ronald? Let me guess, you werenโ€™t the one who made the move. Otherwise, you wouldnโ€™t have had the guts to show up here today. So, that only means someone else is pulling the strings. And that someone scares the hell out of you. Because if it were up to your greed and ambition, you wouldโ€™ve jumped at the chance to bleed Andrew dry by now.โ€

With everyone staring at him, Ronald slowly shut his eyes. When he opened them again, there was a deadly chill in his gaze.

โ€œI do know who did it, but sorry. Iโ€™m not naming names. Andrew, youโ€™re in real deep this time. If you want answers, ask someone else. Iโ€™m not getting dragged into this mess.โ€

He stood up, yanked his hat down low to cover his face, and turned to leave.

However, Duncan stepped sideways, blocking his path. โ€œMr. Potter, tell us who did it. Otherwise, youโ€™re not going anywhere.โ€

Ronald laughed. It was low at first, then rose to a manic pitch. โ€œDuncan, you pathetic roachโ€ฆ You really think you can block my way? Get lost, or tomorrow, youโ€™ll wake up to find your whole damn Irving family wiped out.โ€

Duncanโ€™s face went pale. He was furious but did not dare talk back.

With his status, or Rachelโ€™s and the othersโ€™, Ronald did not consider them worth his attention.

Just then, a crisp clicking sound rang out.

Everyone turned toward it, only to see a sleek black pistol pressed right to Ronaldโ€™s forehead.

โ€œSay it, or Iโ€™ll personally send you to meet Marcelo.โ€

Andrewโ€™s voice was light, almost cheerful, but no one found it pleasant to hear.

They were all frozen in shock. Even Aaron would not have dared to threaten Ronald like this.

Yet, Andrew had gone straight for Ronaldโ€™s throat.
