The next second, Leslie flushed with a mix of shame and rage as she realized Andrew had just played her like a fool. She stomped furiously, shouting, โOpen the damn door or Iโll break it down myself!โ
Right then, the door swung open, and Andrew appeared. He asked, โWhat brings you two here?โ
Andrew rubbed his ear. โAh, my bad. I thought it was a dog barking outside. Didnโt expect it to be you.โ
Leslieโs face twisted in fury. โDid you just call me a dog?โ
Andrew shrugged. โI didnโt call you anything. Youโre the one who said it. It has nothing to do with me.โ
Leslie clenched her jaw, about to explode.
Just then, Lunaโs icy voice cut through. โThatโs enough.โ She glanced at Andrew, still as cold as ever. โDid you find that funny?โ
Andrew shrugged. โKind of. So, Ms. Phelan, what brings you to my doorstep?โ
Luna let out a faint scoff. โTwo things. First, like last time, I want you to teach me alchemy. Second, I want to wipe the slate clean between us. From now on, youโre with me, and youโll have free rein in all of Blumedale. Thatโs a generous offer, wouldnโt you say?โ
Andrew shook his head. โNot generous enough.โ
Luna froze, then gave a cold, mocking laugh. โWhat else do you want? Greedy much? Even if I wanted to give you more, I doubt you could handle it.โ
Andrew grinned. โDonโt worry. If youโre willing to give, I can handle all of it.โ
Lunaโs expression turned to visible disgust. โThen what the hell do you want?โ
Andrew did not hesitate and replied, โGet on your knees and say you were wrong. Do that, and Iโll teach you alchemy.โ
Luna stood there, stunned. It felt almost as if her ears had betrayed her. However, Leslie looked completely flabbergasted. She pointed at Andrew and exclaimed, โAre you insane? What kind of lunatic are you?โ
Make Luna kneel? In Leslieโs entire life, she had seen countless people worship, flatter, and grovel before Luna. Never had she heard someone dare say something this suicidal.
โSay that again!โ Luna demanded.
An invisible pressure began to fill the air. Her pupils narrowed ever so slightly as she locked eyes with Andrew.
Andrewโs gaze was just as sharp, matching her intensity without the slightest retreat.
He repeated, โI said get on your knees and admit you were wrong, and Iโll consider teaching you alchemy. Did you hear me clearly this time?โ
No one dared speak. The heavy pressure kept building, spreading like a storm cloud.
Leslie had gone pale, drenched in sweat. She knew this atmosphere too well, and it was a sign that Luna was about to make a move. She shouted in panic, โAndrew, apologize now! Otherwise, youโre dead meat!โ
Andrew turned his glare on her. โShut your mouth, or Iโll be happy to smash it for you.โ
Leslie nearly lost it. She could not believe how unhinged and unreasonable Andrew was being.
Then, without any warning, something shot from Lunaโs hand. It whizzed past Andrewโs face and slammed into a tree beside the mansion with a brutal thud.
Luna hissed, โFrom this moment on, the Phelan family owes Maryn nothing. Andrew, youโre on your own.โ
Her icy voice still echoed in the air as the military vehicle rolled away, carrying Luna and Leslie with it.
Andrew stood silently in place, his expression unreadable.
Soon, an Audi A6 pulled up slowly and stopped in front of him.
It was Chantelle, paying another unexpected visit.
Her expression was complicated as she stepped out. โYou really shouldnโt have provoked Ms. Phelan like that.โ
