Chapter 154
Herman's face contorted with rage. He spun around, slapping Tony and sending him sprawling across the room. "Get away from me, you idiot!" he screamed. "Don't you realize the trouble you've gotten us into? Instead of standing there clueless, you should be on your knees begging for mercy!"
Tony clutched his swollen face, his mind a blank. Beg for mercy? What was happening? Nothing made sense.
Suddenly, two hundred men in black suits stormed the building, quickly subduing East Side's remaining thugs. The men parted, revealing two figures. Dylan entered, stunned. Leading them was an elderly man, impeccably dressed, wielding a cane and radiating an authority that silenced the chaos.
"M-Mr. Yates," Tony stammered, "why... why are you on my turf?"
Ignoring Tony, Marvin Yates, Jayrodale's wealthiest man, approached Andrew Lloyd respectfully. "Mr. Lloyd, please allow me to handle this. You should take Ms. Stevens for medical attention."
"I have only one requirement," Andrew stated coldly. "There will be no more East Side crime lord in Jayrodale."
Without another word, he lifted the injured Christina and left, not glancing back at the terrified, kneeling Herman or the doomed Tony.
Once Andrew departed, Dylan asked in horror, "Mr. Yates, did... did Mr. Lloyd really take down all of East Side's men and the three Crimson Alliance elite martial artistsโฆ by himself?"
The bloodbathโthe bodies scattered everywhereโwas unbelievable. A single man had done this.
Marvin's lips curled into a faint, menacing smile. "What's wrong? Feeling rattled? Shattered worldview?" He chuckled grimly. "What you just witnessed was child's play. If I told you about Mr. Lloyd's pastโฆ you'd be haunted by your dreams forever."
Turning to Tony, Marvin said coldly, "I received orders to eliminate your gang. How would you prefer to die?"
"Mr. Yates," Tony protested, his face pale, "this conflict was between East Side and Andrew. Never mind you barging in with your men, but who is behind you? Why is he interfering?"
"Even now, you fail to grasp the situation. You deserve what's coming," Marvin stated simply. He turned to Herman. "Herman, you're from the Crimson Alliance; you have more experience than Tony. Explain who's behind me. Give this soon-to-be-headless crime lord a little shock."
Herman raised his head, his eyes filled with terror. "Mr. Yates," he began cautiously, "the Crimson Alliance has always maintained good relations with youโฆ"
