Chapter 130

Tony muttered, โ€œAndrew Lloyd, Andrew Lloydโ€ฆโ€ Then, he slapped Bernard so hard he sent him flying across the room. He spat, โ€œAre you out of your damn mind? You think you can mess with me?โ€

Bernard, stunned, protested, โ€œMr. Madden Senior, Iโ€™m telling the truth! Why are you hitting me?โ€ Heโ€™d tried to be helpful, but Tony was both ungrateful and violent. Bernard wanted to leave and let Juan die.

Tony snarled, โ€œWhy am I hitting you? You idiot, that bastard Andrew is the one who put Juan in this condition!โ€

Bernardโ€™s jaw dropped. โ€œWhat? He did this to Mr. Madden?โ€ He finally understood why Tony had slapped him; heโ€™d unknowingly struck a raw nerve. Perhaps he deserved the slap.

After collecting himself, Bernard said gravely, โ€œMr. Madden Senior, if Mr. Maddenโ€™s condition was truly caused by him, weโ€™re in serious trouble.โ€

Tony snorted. โ€œTrouble? With my connections and power, do you think Iโ€™m just going to watch my son die?โ€

Bernard nervously explained, โ€œThatโ€™s not what I meant, Mr. Madden Senior. This manโ€™s medical skills surpass even Dr. Aickerโ€™s. Heโ€™s also skilled in ancient medical practices. Mr. Madden is suffering from an advanced pressure-point technique. To my knowledge, Andrew is the only one in Jayrodale who can reverse it.โ€

Tony fell silent, his face darkening.

The next day, a petite figure awaited him at the Moonlit Sanctuaryโ€™s entrance. โ€œAndrew, let me drive you to the hospital,โ€ Francesca said cheerfully. Since Andrew had cured her, her complexion was radiant.

Andrew chuckled. โ€œDr. Aicker, your sudden enthusiasm is a bit overwhelming.โ€

Francesca blushed. โ€œAndrew, I want to apologize for underestimating you. Now I know youโ€™re an incredible man. I was blind not to see it.โ€

โ€œNo need to apologize,โ€ Andrew said with a slight smile. โ€œI never took it personally.โ€

They drove to Jayrodale General Hospital. As they entered, a crowd of doctors and nurses surrounded Andrew.

โ€œCongratulations, Dr. Lloyd!โ€

โ€œAndy, this is your big dayโ€”youโ€™ve made it!โ€

โ€œDr. Lloyd, youโ€™re no longer a junior doctor!โ€

Confused, Andrew wondered what was happening. Lauren, in a business suit and accompanied by Rhodes family bodyguards, approached.

โ€œCongratulations, Dr. Lloyd!โ€ she said with a bright smile.

Andrew turned to Francesca, bewildered. โ€œDr. Aicker, whatโ€™s going on?โ€

Francesca beamed. โ€œSurprise! Youโ€™re the new deputy chief of Jayrodale General Hospital!โ€

Later, Andrew learned the Rhodes and Aicker families, the hospitalโ€™s largest shareholders, had jointly nominated him for deputy chiefโ€”an unprecedented promotion.
