Chapter 1178
Aspen and Chantelle both gasped in disbelief. They could not believe that Andrew had just toyed with Luna like she was some puppy, offering her a treat, dangling it right in front of her face, and then yanking it back when she reached for it.
Anyone with an ounce of pride would have snappedโand Lana Phelan was not just anyone.
โPlaying games on a razorโs edgeโฆ Andrew, Iโll be watching,โ Luna said coldly. โIโll watch how you destroy yourself.โ
Her expression turned colder than it had been even when confronting Xavier.
With one sharp step, she kicked up a gust of wind and vanished into the air.
It was a clear sign that she was not just leaving, she was unleashing her fury.
โThat footwork was terrifying,โ Chantelle muttered.
Even Aspen looked shaken.
โKeep acting like this, Andrew, and someoneโs gonna hack you into pieces one day!โ Chantelle snapped.
After one last angry glare, she stormed off too. Aspen did not have quite the same fire in her. This demon of a man was heartless to her, but at least he was equally dismissive of Chantelle and even Luna.
Somehow, that thought brought a strange sense of peace to her heart.
Inside Serenity Villa, Andrew still felt annoyed. Sure, he had taken down the Black Wolf mercenaries and killed Andarov.
He even killed Seth, which was no big deal.
Yet, none of that seemed enough to make Blumedaleโs upper crust actually learn their lesson. It seemed that only pain could bring about change.
Crippling Xavier, the Haywoodsโ golden boy, had been part of Andrewโs plan to give these elite families a much-needed wake-up call. However, Luna had swooped in mid-act and ruined everything.
โDarling, that Ms. Phelan isโฆ terrifying. I really think you should stop pushing her buttons and just lay low for a bit.โ
Even Natasha was advising Andrew to stay low.
Aspen sneered. โMadam Vostokoff, donโt bother trying to talk sense into him. If heโs not challenging the world, heโs not Andrew Lloyd.โ
Andrew narrowed his eyes. โYou sure sound like youโve got a lot of complaints. Should I take it out on you tonight instead?โ
Aspenโs face turned bright red. โDrop dead, you jerk!โ
All she did was throw in a comment, and this man managed to twist it into something outrageous.
Just then, Reuben stepped forward. โMr. Lloyd, as agreed, now that Iโve helped you through this assassination attempt, youโre letting me go free.โ
Andrew waved his hand. โOf course. I donโt go back on my word. Youโre free to leave.โ
Reuben lit up with joy. Finally, he was getting out.
Dylan, however, frowned. โMr. Lloyd, letting a semi-martial king go just like thatโฆ feels like a waste.โ
Andrew shrugged. โA dealโs a deal. Besides, semi-martial kings donโt carry much weight in Blumedale anymore.โ Everyone fell silent, glancing at each other. They could not deny itโconsidering the monsters Andrew had pissed off lately, no wonder a semi-martial king felt underpowered.
In Jayrodale, someone at that level could basically play king. But here? It was not even close.
Aspen turned to Andrew. โNow that the wave of assassins has passed, I need to head to the office. I havenโt been in for two days. I need to check on things personally.โ
Andrew nodded. โGo ahead. If anything comes up, call me right away.โ
After she left, Andrew discreetly instructed Dylan to keep protecting her from the shadows.
Natasha, watching this, spoke with a hint of jealousy. โDarling, youโve been awfully sweet to Aspen lately.โ Andrew replied matter-of-factly, โSheโs earned it. Supreme Capital Group is surviving thanks to her leadership.โ
Natasha pouted. โAnd what about me?โ
Andrew blinked. โYou have your own responsibilities, which donโt clash with Aspenโs role.โ
Natasha gritted her teeth. โI will handle my responsibilities, but if I ever catch you sleeping with that cold-on-the-outside, freak-in-the-sheets womanโฆ I swear, Iโll tie you down and have my way with you until you cry!โ
Andrew gave a helpless smile. Every single woman around him was a handful, but if they were all this obsessed with his body, he figured he should better make sure he could keep up.
