Chapter 1052

Quintonโ€™s face darkened, and it looked like he was ready to kill someone. He could not believe what was happening.

Did Andrew come with some kind of main character plot armor?

Even Richard, a heavyweight in the game, was leading the charge to back him โ€“ actually rallying support on his behalf. Moreover, no one was bringing up the fact that Elon literally ate crap because of him.

Was the Golding familyโ€™s public vendetta just meaningless now?

Quinton could not wrap his head around it, not even a little โ€“ none of it made sense to him.

Christina frowned and said, โ€œMr. Wright, what if thereโ€™s another possibility? What if Mr. Golding Senior and the others donโ€™t actually know that Andrew is the same guy from Jayrodale โ€“ the one who humiliated his son and triggered the Golding familyโ€™s bounty in the first place?โ€

Quintonโ€™s eyes burned with hatred as he hissed, โ€œI already warned him, but Richard still didnโ€™t believe me. You saw it yourself. I honestly donโ€™t know what kind of spell Andrew has him under! Or maybe theyโ€™ve secretly patched things up behind closed doors!โ€

Christina stayed skeptical as she replied, โ€œI still think Mr. Golding Senior might truly have no idea. He might not even know who Andrew really is. Otherwise, based on what Andrew did, thereโ€™s no way the Golding family would ever back him.โ€

Quintonโ€™s eyes narrowed, glinting with something dark. โ€œEither way, Iโ€™m going to tell Mr. Golding Senior the truth myself. Unless heโ€™s someone who doesnโ€™t care that his son ate literal crap, or that his familyโ€™s honor was publicly trashed, Andrewโ€™s little moment in the spotlight isnโ€™t going to last long.โ€

Seeing that things were starting to escalate, Derek decided it was time to wrap things up and dismissed everyone, saying the dayโ€™s charity event was officially over.

He approached Andrew and asked, โ€œMr. Lloyd, would you like to have a private chat? Youโ€™re an interesting young man.โ€

Andrew smiled and said, โ€œI really appreciate the offer, sir, but Iโ€™m afraid Iโ€™ll have to take a rain check. Thanks to your endorsement, my company just got hit with a big opportunity, so I need to rush back and oversee everything personally.โ€

Derek gave him an approving nod. โ€œYoung people with drive and execution are exactly what I like to see. Go ahead. Weโ€™ll talk another day.โ€

Pulling Aspen along, Andrew made a quick exit without looking back.

As Derek watched him leave, he murmured, โ€œWhy does it feel like that guy was in a real hurry? He even turned down my invitation. This kid isnโ€™t the type to suck up to power. Thatโ€™s a rare quality these days!โ€

In truth, he was giving Andrew way too much credit. Andrew was not avoiding power out of integrity. He had just walked away with a mountain of someone elseโ€™s money and emotionally played the hell out of his enemies.

He had no choice but to vanish before someone connected all the dots, and things blew up in his face. Otherwise, there would be absolute chaos.

Aspen started the car and burst out laughing as the engine roared. โ€œYou panicked, didnโ€™t you? Running like that?โ€

Andrew snapped, โ€œJust drive, will you? I took a ton of their money, tricked them into trusting me, and even messed with their emotions. If it were you, wouldnโ€™t you be freaking out too?โ€

Aspen nodded so fast it was a blur. โ€œIf it were me, Iโ€™d chase you to the ends of the earth just to tear you limb from limb!โ€

Through the rearview mirror, she spotted Quinton already tracking down Richard, his expression thunderous. Sure enough, Richardโ€™s face twisted into a deep, stormy scowl as the conversation unfolded.

Aspen felt her heart clench, knowing the match had been lit. She slammed the gas, and the Ferrari bolted out like a bullet.

It was time to escape โ€“ any slower, and they would be caught in a major storm.
