Chapter 1047
Andrew chuckled as he waved at the group. โMr. Golding Senior, gentlemenโif youโll excuse me, I need to step away for a moment.โ
Richard and the others chuckled and quickly gestured for him to go ahead, assuring him he did not need to be formal. However, the moment Andrew walked away, all their smiles vanished.
โNow that kidโs taken our money, he better move heaven and earth to get us those miracle pills. I donโt care what it takes.โ
โExactly. Our money doesnโt come easy. He better not get cocky.โ
โRelax. From my perspective, Mr. Lloyd actually knows his stuff. Most people wouldnโt have such detailed insight into those two pills.โ
That last comment came from Richard himself. He looked calm and confident, completely in control.
Since someone as influential as Richard was this certain, the other moguls finally smiled as well. Truth be told, none of them had been willing to hand Andrew money so casually at first.
However, because Richard made the first move, they followed. As the saying goes: โFollow the leader, and youโre guaranteed a piece of the pie.โ
Meanwhile, Andrew led Aspen toward the hallway that led to the restrooms. Halfway there, he suddenly changed direction, barely holding back his grin. โWeโre leaving.โ
Aspen was stupefied. โLeaving? What about the money you just took? Youโre not even going to explain anything to Mr. Golding Senior and the others?โ
Andrew smirked. โExplain what? Do I owe them a fruit basket or something? The Golding family and I already have bad blood. If they donโt flip the table afterward, Iโll count my blessings.โ
Aspen was stunned. โWaitโyou knew you were enemies with the Golding family? Then why the hell would you still take their money?โ
Andrew chuckled casually. โDid you not see who came running to hand it to me? I didnโt beg, and I sure didnโt force anyone. They gave it willingly.โ
That smug, totally justified attitude left Aspen completely speechless, and her mind was buzzing. Eventually, she asked, โSo whatโyouโre just walking off with Mr. Golding Seniorโs money and everyone elseโs too?โ
Andrew shook his head, smiling calmly. โI wouldnโt call it โwalking offโโฆ I was very clearโyes, I took their money. But I also told them I couldnโt promise when the partnership would start, if at all.
โAnd you heard it yourselfโevery last one of them said it wasnโt about the deal, just about building a friendship with me. So, if a friend wants to give me a gift, of course, Iโll accept it. Who am I to say no?โ
To Aspen, it sounded like robbery wrapped in poetic logic. Yet, once again, she could not come up with a single solid counterargument. This guy was incredibly insane. He had already wrecked Elon and was now scamming Richard for millions.
Andrew let out a cold snort. โThey put a bounty on my head, Aspen. The Golding family literally issued a blood hunt. Do you seriously think Iโm gonna play Mr. Nice Guy now? Be all respectful and grateful? This isnโt paymentโitโs interest.โ
Aspen had no words left. Collecting โinterestโ from the head of the Golding family was unbelievable. She did not even want to imagine Richardโs face when he found out the truth.
The longer they stayed, the more risk they faced. So, the two of them picked up the paceโafter all, when youโve taken the prize, the smart move is to get the hell out.
However, just as they rounded the corner, someone stepped into their path, smiling.
โMr. Lloydโand Ms. Aspen, right?โ
