Hannah responded to Charles's compromise with a charming smile, though he saw only a sneer.

“Mr. Sawyer, do you mean you agree to a plan fee of 100 million?” Hannah asked.

“Now that you mention it, I don't want to be uncooperative. For Gordon's sake, I agree. However, the Sawyer Group sacrificed its project profit—for the people of Kensbury. I have no idea how Hannah calculated our turnover, but our profit is zero. I don't mean to suggest I'm unwilling to lose 100 million; Sawyer disregards profit and loss in public welfare projects.” Charles was clearly whitewashing the Sawyer Group.

Hannah and Gordon remained unconvinced.

“I’ll finalize the agreement with Cooper as quickly as possible,” Charles affirmed.

“Then I’ll await it,” Hannah replied. “But I must remind you: the Sawyer Group is facing a serious smear campaign. Don't waste time; the stock market won't be patient.”

“This isn't your concern,” Charles retorted.

“Very well. If there’s nothing else, I’ll be leaving,” Hannah said calmly, smiling at Gordon. “Mr. Gordon, contact me if anything arises.”

“Okay,” Gordon responded.

“I'll inform my father so we can expedite the project and begin construction,” Charles said, rising.

“Okay. I won’t keep you,” Gordon nodded.

Hannah and Charles left the office together.

“Hannah, you’re so clever!” Charles said sarcastically.

“Mr. Sawyer, you flatter me,” Hannah replied. “It’s simply due to a weak opponent.”

Her words ignited his anger, but Hannah remained unfazed.

“But,” Hannah paused, Charles waiting beside her, “Cooper gains a good relationship with Gordon and 100 million, cost-free. We actually profited greatly this time.” Hannah chuckled.

Hannah ignored Charles's grim expression, smiling brightly as she glanced at her phone.

“Gordon thanked me personally!” she exclaimed, showing him the message.

Charles exploded with rage as he read the message. Hannah regarded him ironically, then left with Rose and Jimmy. She thought it best to let Charles's anger consume him; it would save her energy.

Glaring at her retreating back, Charles fumed. The Cooper Group had reaped all the benefits while the Sawyer Group had suffered significant losses.

He impulsively called Hannah, snapping, “Hannah, you’d better remain clever. Or…”

“Or you’ll kill me?” Hannah responded coldly.

“You won’t have a good ending,” Charles retorted, hanging up abruptly.

Hannah disregarded his threat; she was accustomed to risking her life against him. In the car, she told Jimmy, “Go to the detention house.”

“Okay,” Jimmy replied.

Hannah was going to see Wayne, not out of mercy, but to mock his foolishness.

“Ms. Hannah,” Rose exclaimed excitedly, “I truly admire you!”

Rose, Hannah's ever-present secretary, saw Hannah's masterful business strategy: the Cooper Group gained everything, the Sawyer Group lost everything. It was perfection.

Hannah smiled serenely. “Thanks to a foolish opponent.”

“Our opponent wasn't foolish! Without your foresight, we'd be silently nursing our grievances!” Rose protested.

“That’s hardly an accomplishment,” Hannah said lightly.

“Hardly…?” Rose’s eyes widened; she didn't believe it. It was a profound insult to the Sawyer Group.

“There’s more,” Hannah added.

Rose was speechless.

At the detention house, Hannah saw Wayne after completing the formal procedures.

Wayne, perhaps frightened by his confinement (even if only half a day), exclaimed, “Hannah, get me out of here! I have an allergy! A systemic allergy!”

Hannah remained impassive.

“Hannah, you’re here to save me, aren’t you? Get me out!” Wayne shouted, increasingly agitated.

“I’m here to mock you,” Hannah replied coldly.

Wayne froze in disbelief. After a moment, he pleaded, “Hannah, we’re family, related by blood! Don’t turn me away…”

“I could do this to your father. Why not you?” Hannah interrupted.

“Hannah!” Wayne’s face turned green. “You’re merciless! You’ll die a pointless death!”

“So you believe you’ll have a happy life after viciously framing me?” Hannah countered.

“I…”

“You stole our plan to sell to the Sawyer Group. Wayne Cooper, I’m here to inform you that Sandra Stein has been arrested, not Charles! You and Sandra, the woman you love, are the scapegoats. The mastermind remains at large,” Hannah emphasized.

“Sandra’s arrested?” Wayne stared in disbelief.

“Distressed? You truly love her! Shall I tell you Sandra was Charles's mistress all along? She seduced you to work with Charles. Tell me you don't think she loved you.”
