Chapter 1163: Travel (7) Drinking
Theodore presented Little Bunny with a bouquet of roses and a necklace, which she accepted. He then took her back to the villa on his yacht. Little Bunny seemed less guarded around Theodore, perhaps influenced by his words, and they spent their time happily playing together on the island. Theodore was respectful, never overstepping boundaries, and Little Bunny reciprocated his growing affection. They even indulged in some extravagant shopping at the local center.
Half a month vanished like quicksand. Their departure was scheduled for tomorrow, a prospect Theodore deeply regretted. He genuinely longed to stay with Little Bunny, envisioning a future where they would grow old together by the seaside, content in their secluded world, far removed from the bustling outside world.
After her bath, Little Bunny went to get a glass of water before preparing for bed. She had received her work schedule from her agent the previous day. Despite arranging everything, the agent still feigned concern about the inconvenience. Little Bunny simply replied, "No problem," intending to sleep early in preparation for her upcoming work commitments.
Walking to the lobby, she saw Theodore sitting alone outside, gazing at the sea, seemingly lost in thought. She sensed a melancholy in his demeanor. Taking her water, she approached him, noticing he was smoking. He quickly extinguished the cigarette upon seeing her.
"Aren't you going to sleep?" he asked.
"Why are you still awake?" Little Bunny countered, usually an early sleeper for the sake of her beauty routine.
"I can't sleep," Theodore admitted softly, chuckling, "You should be eager to go back."
"No," she replied. "I rarely have this much free time. This half-month vacation is a rare treat, and I feel very comfortable."
"Really?" he questioned.
"Uh-huh."
"Want to stay longer? I can talk to your agent."
Little Bunny remained silent.
"Just kidding," Theodore said. "I have to go back, or Oscar will fire me."
Little Bunny smiled subtly. She sensed a warmth in Theodoreโs words, a consideration for others beyond his own desires.
"Get some rest," she said, turning to leave.
As she turned, Theodore embraced her from behind, making her heart skip a beat.
"I just wanted to hug you," he whispered.
She didn't resist, trusting his recent respectful behavior. She allowed him to hold her, enjoying the sea breeze and starlight, feeling as though they were in paradise.
"Little Bunny, do you like me?" he asked softly.
She remained silent, a silence Theodore understood as an answer. He knew she couldn't easily express hurtful sentiments, unlike himself. He released her.
"Get some rest; we have a long flight tomorrow," he said.
"You too," she replied politely, smiling before walking away.
Theodore watched her go, lost in thought, his longing for her immeasurable.
Back in their room, Little Bunny found sleep elusive. The relaxing vacation had been blissful, yet Theodore's question lingered in her mind. While initially intending to refuse his affections, an uncertainty had crept inโperhaps his deep voice, the romantic setting, or simply the intimacy of their shared time had lowered her defenses.
"I shouldn't fall for him," she thought, sitting up. Unsure if thirst from something salty was the cause of her insomnia, she went downstairs for water.
She found Theodore at the bar, drinking alcohol, not by the sea as before. He looked up in surprise.
"You're not asleep yet?" she asked.
"I don't want to sleep. You can't sleep either?" he replied.
"Well..."
"Would you like a drink?"
"If I drink with you, will you go to bed early?"
"Okay," Theodore agreed, sensing her wish to keep him from lingering in the living room. Actually, she simply wanted to ensure he rested before their early departure.
He poured her a glass of wine. "You have good drinking skills," he observed as she sipped elegantly.
"In show business, we handle our liquor pretty well," she explained.
"I see," he replied, pouring her another glass. "Drink as much as you want."
"Two glasses only. You promised youโd go to bed if I drink with you."
Theodore nodded helplessly. There was no arguing with this stubborn woman.
"Alright," he conceded.
After finishing their drinks, Little Bunny urged him to bed. He complied, but stumbled slightly from drinking too much on an empty stomach. Little Bunny caught him just in time, and he found himself in her arms, feeling an overwhelming comfort. He hugged her tightly.
