Chapter 1088: Wedding News
"Little Bunny, I'm not negotiating," Theodore's impatient voice echoed in the living room. He was angry. Little Bunny bit her lip. "My filming schedule is unpredictable," she said. "Sometimes it's morning, night, even overnight. I often travel with the crew; it could be ten days or two weeks before I return. I don't want to disrupt your routine."
Theodore's face remained cold, his anger palpable as he gripped the remote. She had refused him outright.
"Tonight, I have a scene at 8 p.m. If we finish late, I won't be back until three or four in the morning. That would disturb your sleep, since my place isn't far from yours. Just let me know if you want me to come over," Little Bunny continued, despite her nervousness.
She forced herself to state her position clearly: cohabitation wasn't an option. She wouldn't live with Theodore, but she would visit occasionally and fulfill his requests whenever possible.
Theodore set down the remote and walked towards the kitchen, where Little Bunny was meticulously cutting meat, her head bowed. Though she couldn't see him, she felt his presence, making her anxious. Remembering Theodore's violence toward Louie, a lingering fear made her tremble, but she remained silent.
Theodore approached her. Since their trip abroad, he'd inexplicably yearned for a real family with Little Bunny. His desire for her to cook stemmed from recently watching her TV dramas, where she prepared meals in an apron for another man. Though he knew it was acting, the jealousy sometimes made him want to smash his television.
He knew he shouldn't watch, yet each intimate scene with the male lead ignited his irritation. Like a masochist, he continued to watch, unable to look away. He felt strangely changed.
He suddenly hugged her tightly from behind. She startled, but didn't move.
"Okay," he said. He buried his head in her neck, his breath warm against her skin.
Her surprise was immense; she hadn't expected such ready agreement. She'd braced herself for a confrontation.
"Thank you," she said gratefully.
Theodore, however, felt agitated despite his promise. Little Bunny's reasons were valid, yet unease lingered. He didn't want to upset her; he felt a protective urge, a need to fulfill her request. He'd become someone he feared.
"Call me husband," he murmured against her neck, his kiss trailing down her skin. He wanted her completely.
Little Bunny felt uncomfortable, resisting yet forcing herself to comply.
"Husband," she whispered hesitantly.
This seemed to ignite something in Theodore. He swiftly lifted her onto the kitchen counter. It reminded her of their encounter in the bathroom. She still held a knife, terrified of accidentally harming him, but she released it.
By 7 p.m., she left Theodore's bed. After he was satisfied, he slept soundly. Little Bunny carefully got up and called Tanya at 7:40 p.m. for a ride to filming. She had only forty minutes. She prepared a simple meal, not from fear of his hunger, but of his revenge if she left without a word.
She left a note: "I have to go to filming. This is all I could make. If it's burnt, don't eat it. Let the housekeeper cook for you."
Theodore awoke later, disoriented. He felt around, then leaped out of bed.
"Damn! Where's Little Bunny?!"
Naked, he rushed into the living room. He found the food and note, realizing she'd gone to filming. He felt a wave of relief. He ate the cold food, initially intending only a few bites, but finishing it all with a surprising warmth spreading through him.
He messaged Little Bunny: "Remember to wake me up before leaving next time."
Her quick affirmative reply elicited a foolish smile.
Their relationship continued this way. Little Bunny's burgeoning fame kept them apart, meeting only four times a month. Theodore was unhappy, but her passion for her career prevented him from asking her to quit. He hoped a pregnancy might change things, but six months passed without success. Meanwhile, Susan's pregnancy progressed, her due date less than a month away.
It was during this time that news broke of Jolencami's royal prince, Doyle, and Besse's upcoming wedding.
