Chapter 410: Never Leave Me

Upon seeing someone approach, Jillian was startled and quickly moved aside. "Aht," she murmured. Seeing their impending success vanish, Tristan felt indescribable disappointment and frustration. With a resentful look, he turned to Josiah. โ€œDamn! Why do you have to be such a buzzkill?โ€

Madelyn silently emerged. In her mind, she berated Josiah for being such a killjoy. Couldnโ€™t he bear to see others being affectionate? Why interrupt them? He was really asking for a beating!

Josiah, however, showed no remorse, instead grinning smugly. โ€œEnough already, Tristan. You should know when to stop. Youโ€™ve already confessed successfully. What more do you want? Letโ€™s save the kissing for after you return from the military. Haha! Itโ€™ll keep you on tenterhooks.โ€

โ€œFuck!โ€ Tristan, on the verge of tears, swallowed his sorrow. โ€œHow about a fight? Iโ€™ve been annoyed with you for a while, and I really want to beat you up.โ€

โ€œOh? You dare challenge me?โ€ Josiah laughed heartily. โ€œSure! Letโ€™s fight! Today, Iโ€™ll show you whoโ€™s boss!โ€

With a grunt, Tristan retorted, โ€œEnough talk! Bring it on!โ€

The two men began to fight harmlessly, like children. Madelyn watched, speechless but amused. How could these grown men behave like this?

Madelyn, tired of their childishness, went to Jillian. Upon seeing Jillian, Madelyn playfully teased, โ€œJilly, youโ€™re finally in a relationship, huh?โ€

โ€œMadelyn, please stopโ€ฆโ€ Jillian blushed, embarrassed.

Madelyn laughed, then reassured her, โ€œAll right. Iโ€™ll drop it. Letโ€™s head back and ignore those two childish brats.โ€

โ€œOkay,โ€ Jillian nodded, and they left. Tristan and Josiah eventually returned to the private room.

That night, everyone reveled late into the morning, drinking and playing games. Madelyn arrived home after midnight, nearing one in the morning. Sebastian was still awake on the couch.

โ€œSebastianโ€ฆโ€ she said gently, instantly melting him. Before he could speak, his anger vanished. She clung to him tightly.

Perhaps the parting had caused a wave of melancholy, and Madelyn felt downcast. Emboldened by alcohol, she was excessively affectionate toward Sebastian.

Suddenly, she asked, โ€œSebastian, will you ever leave me?โ€

A warmth spread through Sebastianโ€™s heart. His voice, icy yet warm, replied, โ€œI wonโ€™t leave you.โ€

โ€œOkayโ€ฆ Thatโ€™s good,โ€ Madelyn said, clinging tighter. โ€œSebastian, I hate saying goodbye. If we ever part, it will be unbearably painful, like death. Promise youโ€™ll never leave me.โ€

Sebastian countered, โ€œWhat if you leave me?โ€

โ€œI wonโ€™t!โ€ Madelyn declared resolutely. โ€œDonโ€™t you trust me? I truly love you. As long as you donโ€™t push me away, I wonโ€™t leave you.โ€ She snuggled closer.

Sebastian found her words amusing and endearing. His heart swelled with affection. He held her close, kissing her forehead. โ€œDonโ€™t worry. I love you too. I wonโ€™t ever leave you.โ€

โ€œReally?โ€ Madelyn seemed doubtful.

Sebastian chuckled, pinching her cheek. โ€œReally.โ€

โ€œAll right, pinky promise?โ€

Madelyn extended her pinky. Sebastianโ€™s smile intensified; he found her adorable. He intertwined his finger with hers.

Madelyn said, โ€œA pinky promise canโ€™t be broken.โ€

Sebastian agreed, โ€œAll right. It wonโ€™t be.โ€

โ€œOkay.โ€

As he watched her nestled in his arms, so gentle and tranquil, Sebastian lowered his head and kissed her soft lips. Though somewhat inebriated, Madelyn thought clearly. She didnโ€™t resist the warmth; she responded.

Sebastian was moved by her response. He held her waist and kissed her incessantly, as if to devour her. His hand wandered to her chest, his touch neither too heavy nor too light.

โ€œAhโ€ฆโ€ Madelyn gasped softly. The whisper ignited a wildfire in Sebastianโ€™s heart. He gently moved her from the couch to the bed.

Clothes were tossed onto the floor. It was a night of passion.

The next day, Madelyn went to Thornton Corporation. On a break from studying, she focused on work. Jillian, idle at home, became an intern at the company. A top finance student and Madelynโ€™s best friend, Jillian was the perfect choice.

Madelyn introduced Jillian to her father, Derek. โ€œDad, this is my friend Jillian Lynch. Jillian, this is my father, the chairman.โ€

Madelyn facilitated the introduction. โ€œGood day, Mr. Thornton,โ€ Jillian greeted. Derek responded cordially, โ€œHello, Maddieโ€™s friend.โ€
