Chapter 319: See You Again

Twenty minutes later, Madelyn arrived at Elite Club. She hadn't made a deliberate effort to dress up; she casually wore a beige coat and hurried over, her style appearing very laid-back. Even without makeup, her stunning beauty remained unforgettable.

At that moment, a sizable crowd had gathered at the entrance, their loud chatter suggesting something had happened. From afar, Madelyn spotted the situation and asked, "What happened?"

The man she asked was dazzled by her. He hesitated before saying, "It seems someone passed out from drinking too much. Also, the person is injured."

"Hey, beautiful, could you give me your number?"

Before he finished, Madelyn swiftly moved into the crowd, calling, "Excuse me! Excuse me!" A tall, badly beaten man collapsed face-first. Madelyn's heart clenched. She urgently turned him over. "Sebastian, are you all right?"

Immediately, she was shocked. This wasn't Sebastian; it was Christopher.

"Madelyn!" Christopher, through his blurry vision, recognized her. Excitement surged; he burst into hearty laughter. "I knew it! I knew you would come back to me one day!"

Madelyn felt herself being tightly embraced. A wave of alcohol and the stench of blood hit her, making her nauseous.

"Christopher, let go of me!" Madelyn pushed him away.

Unexpectedly, he clung to her like a madman, exclaiming, "Madelyn, I knew you still loved me!"

Madelyn felt like vomiting. Why on earth would I be in love with you?

Just then, Wesley and Sebastian emerged from the club, witnessing the scene. Wesley's eyes widened in fury. "Madelyn, what on earth are you two doing?"

Madelyn was startled and frantic.

His aura was icy cold; his gaze gloomy.

For a long time, Sebastian had doubted Madelyn, yet deep down, he'd believed she'd genuinely repented. He'd even believed she'd fallen in love with him, finding the notion sweet. At that moment, however, reality felt like a sharp dagger piercing his heart.

Seeing Sebastian's somber expression, Madelyn hurried forward. "Sebastian, would you let me explain? There's been a misunderstanding. I justโ€”"

The onlookers eagerly watched the unfolding drama. Wesley, dissatisfied, urged, "Enough! There are so many people watching. Don't embarrass yourselves. Whatever you two have to discuss, do it at home."

"Someone, go open the car door, and take care of the trash on the ground," Wesley instructed.

"Understood!" His subordinate replied.

One subordinate drove the car while another dragged Christopher's limp body outside.

As Christopher was led away, he slurred, "Madelyn! Madelyn, I always knew you still cared about meโ€ฆ"

Madelyn glared, silently demanding him to shut up. I'm tired of his nauseating remarks!

Sebastian, however, interpreted the scene differently. A cold laugh escaped him; a chill settled in his eyes. She keeps insisting it's a misunderstanding, yet her eyes reveal her concern for Christopher. Is she heartbroken because he's being dragged away? Since that's the case, there's no need for pretense!

Sebastian, unable to contain his anger, turned and strode away.

"Sebastian, can you listen to my explanation?" Madelyn pleaded, grabbing his hand.

She was forcefully pushed away.

"Enough!" Sebastian's gaze turned chillingly cold. "Don't touch me with the same hand that has touched other men. It's filthy!"

Madelyn let go. "I'm sorryโ€ฆ Iโ€”I was just trying to explainโ€”"

It was an unprecedented surge of anger. Even in the past, his anger had never reached this extent. This time, it was as if his heart had been brutally pierced. A sense of betrayal had seeped into every fiber of his being, making even breathing painful.

Madelyn was taken aback. "Sebastian, what am I pretending to be?"

"You know that better than anyone else."

"I have no idea!" Madelyn felt wronged.

"Are you sure? Fine! Let me tell you this. If you can't forget your ex, don't come looking for me in the future."

Sebastian turned to get in the car.

"Don't go!"

Madelyn's heart fluttered; she was on the verge of tears. Again, she stepped forward, grasping his hand. "Sebastian, this is really a misunderstanding. Please believe me?"

She received another shove, this time harder. Madelyn collided her head with the car door, experiencing severe pain. Her head ached, but her heart hurt even more.

Holding her forehead, Madelyn felt injustice. "If you don't want to listen, then don't. Why did you have to push me? Do I really disgust you that much?"

Sebastian, initially filled with anger, saw her injury. His heart skipped a beat.

Just as he was about to speak, Madelyn stood up and exclaimed loudly, "Yes, you're right! I, Madelyn, am indeed pretentious. I love to put on a show. I've been deceiving you. I've been acting. Are you satisfied now? Sebastian, you're the worst person in the world! I absolutely, utterly, completely despise you! I never want to see you again! How could you not believe me?"

Madelyn, clutching her forehead, ran off, afraid of being seen in her disheveled state. She succumbed to exhaustion, squatting on the ground.
