Chapter 285 Everything Is Part of Her Scheme
"Of course, I knowโฆ Iโm playing with fire," Madelyn said, beaming at him as if already prepared for what was to come.
Sebastian was infuriated. "Since you know, why provoke me? Do you think Iโm mild-tempered?"
Madelyn chuckled again. "What? Are youโ"
Before she could finish her sentence, her lips were silenced by a warm kiss. Since his words failed to intimidate her, Sebastian had no choice but to let his actions show her just how fiercely the fire within him was burning. Sebastian invaded her mouth, then meticulously savored every tender spot.
His strength was sometimes domineering and other times gentle. Madelynโs kissing technique was terrible at first, but gradually, she began to respond. Consequently, the kiss evolved into a lingering and passionate one. Not long after, Madelyn had completely relaxed, almost to the point of being pliable. It was only natural for Sebastian to proceed to the next step.
Right at that moment, the phone inconveniently rang, the sound shattering the atmosphere. Their faces had turned slightly pink from the deep kiss, and the ambiance turned slightly awkward.
Nevertheless, Sebastian composed himself, clearing his throat lightly. "May I use the phone?" He then promptly stood up to pick up the phone.
Madelyn was utterly disappointed. It had been quite a while since they had been intimate. She blamed it all on that accursed phone.
Following that, Sebastian took a brief phone call. It appeared to be an international call as Sebastian conversed fluently in Uprian.
After the call, Sebastian found the situation was somewhat urgent, so he went straight to the study to get to work.
Before they knew it, an hour had passed in the flurry of activity. Madelyn sat on the couch and watched TV as she waited. She waited and waited and fell asleep.
After Sebastian finished his work and returned, he found her soundly asleep, tightly curled up. Her peaceful expression resembled that of a child, making her incredibly endearing. A faint smile played at the corners of his mouth. He reached out his long arm, gently pulling the petite figure into his embrace. Madelyn only needed a whiff to recognize his scent as one she was most familiar with, so she naturally snuggled deeper into his chest.
Then, Sebastian gently laid her on the bed, taking care to tuck her in under the covers. They had a good nightโs sleep.
The following day, Madelyn went to the university as usual after finishing her breakfast.
As soon as Jillian entered the lecture hall, she hurried over with a look of anxiety. "Madelyn, Janessa has been released."
"So soon?" Madelyn was somewhat surprised but also relieved. "Where is she now?"
"I heard she was summoned to Mr. Winstonโs office first thing in the morning." Jillian sighed. "With the magnitude of this incident, I think Janessa will have an unfavorable outcome this time."
Madelyn nodded in agreement, fully agreeing with Jillianโs idea. After all, the university was renowned for its upright ethos and strict management. Janessaโs family influence wasnโt particularly powerful, so there was a chance that Janessa might receive a major demerit. If the situation was severe, she could even be expelled.
"However, if thereโs anyone to blame, itโs only herself, shooting herself in the foot," Jillian shook her head, lost for words.
Madelyn simply smiled, choosing not to say anything further. Following that, the class began.
After enduring two consecutive classes, it was finally time for a break. Just then, the back door opened, and in marched a menacing and aggressive figureโnone other than Janessa.
"Why is she here again?"
"Seriously, how does she have the nerve to show up in our class? Didnโt Mr. Winston expel her?" the students whispered.
Janessaโs face darkened, but her anger wasnโt directed at her classmates. Instead, it was aimed at Madelyn. She appeared, seemingly furious, and marched straight up to Madelyn. Her tone was hostile as she demanded, "Madelyn, you owe me an explanation. Didnโt you promise to wait for me at the entrance of the restaurant that afternoon? Why werenโt you there?"
The tone of her voice was filled with malice.
However, Madelyn was not one to be trifled with. She rose abruptly from her seat and snickered. "Shouldnโt I be the one asking you that, my dear bestie? That afternoon, you told us to wait for you at the entrance. However, as soon as Jillian and I stepped out, a group of gangsters immediately surrounded us. We were almost assaulted and hoping that you would come to our rescue, but where were you? You said you were going to the restroom, but did it really need to take that long? Did you fall into the toilet?"
Madelyn exuded a formidable aura, no less powerful than Janessa, and even carried a hint of dominance.
Janessa suddenly felt a pang of guilt but sensed something was amiss. Even though she had Javier make his move, she certainly didnโt ask him to assault Madelyn in broad daylight. Did Javier bring along some other gangsters?
Just as she was thinking, Madelyn snapped, "Janessa, I think we shouldnโt be friends anymore! Every time Iโm with you, problems inexplicably arise. I really donโt want to put myself in danger anymore! Letโs just end our friendship!"
Janessa was dumbfounded. She had never imagined that Madelyn would actually sever ties with her.
Wonโt it be difficult to trick her in the future if weโre no longer friends? If we sever our friendship, how can I get close to Sebastian, using Madelyn in the future? No, we absolutely canโt end our friendship.
Janessa was resolute in her thoughts, then quickly sought to explain to Madelyn. "Iโm sorry, Madelyn, itโs not what you think. I was upset because I was also attacked by a group of gangsters that afternoon after I left! Back then, I couldnโt find you, and I thought youโd left me behind. Then the police showed up, mistook me for being part of their group, and took me away too. Thatโs why I was so upset."
After saying that, she looked at her classmates, who were watching innocently, and pleaded, "I hope you all can believe me. I have no idea why those people insisted on accusing me of being in cahoots with them! The truth is I donโt even know them. Iโve been wrongly accused. Please donโt believe whatโs being said about me on the forum."
A few soft-hearted classmates actually believed Janessaโs words, wondering if she had been wrongfully accused.
Madelyn was utterly speechless. This woman truly has a knack for twisting the truth. Even in this situation, she can still find excuses to whitewash her actions. As expected of Janessa! No one is as shameless as her.
Hence, Madelyn could only put on a skeptical expression. "Really?"
Janessa nodded rapidly. "Madelyn, you have to trust me. Eunice was behind the posts on the forum. Theyโre all lies! She might even be behind this whole thing!"
