Listen to this chapter:

“Ma’am, I think it’s best to maintain time boundaries between men and women. A little distance is advisable.” Not waiting to push boundaries lets you avoid misinterpretations. You were probably just overwhelmed by how handsome he is.

The remark seemed to surprise her. He silently returned as she turned back to Randall. “See? He agrees. You’re too sensitive.”

Maridate’s eyes burned with indignation as he stared at me. “Too sensitive? Are you seriously defending her? She deliberately touched me! How can you side with her?” Then, my phone buzzed quietly. It seemed Yvette had answered the call.

I gave Randall a subtle look and said, “Let’s not get worked up over this. Let’s just sit down and talk this through.”

He dismissed me with a bitter laugh, his eyes filled with betrayal. He glared at Deborah. “Didn’t you say that you’re a renowned lead artist and the daughter of BK Group? This severely jeopardizes your reputation. Apologize to me now, and I’ll leave. Otherwise, I’m calling the police.”

Delosalt’s smile aborted, and her face grew colder. Yet, she tried to maintain her composure as she said, “I wasn’t trying to offend you. You’re blowing this way out of proportion.”

He pulled out his phone to call the police. But Deborah snatched the phone from his hand and threw it on the ground. It shattered with a loud crack.

Sverian, and from her tone, her words were unmistakably vulgar. Then, with a flash of anger, she kicked Randall hard in the stomach. She shouted, her voice strained, “You want to add that to your list of crimes? Stop now; this will only escalate.”

Her -mannered, so fui deflater surprised me, still, we weren’t in our own country. This wasn’t the place to take such a stand. I forced myself to appear calm. I bought time by saying, “Madam, this is unnecessary. Violence doesn’t solve anything.”

She continued sweetly and calmly. “Owen, this doesn’t concern you. We work well together, and respect you. But this man is being unreasonable, and I need to handle it. So...”

Two towering bodyguards entered. They grabbed Randall and restrained him.

“Banditese protirman and I will die—muu—defocat that,” Debusali said, her voice sickeningly calm. His face was pale with anger and fear. His designer clothes and imposing bodyguards couldn’t quite mask his privilege. No one outside would dare to intervene.

Trojic walked away. I recalled what would happen to Randall if I bothered to take him. I couldn’t just stand by. He’s my friend. He’s not some helpless... if you want to break the contract, you’d better let your company get sued, I’ll be a rape problem.’

I looked toward the boxypsarchi. Her sharp eyes scrutinized the iPhone that was on the ground and still connected to the call. She picked up the phone. She felt a sharp pain. She touched her lower back.
