Natalie laughed angrily and mocked him. “Easton, are you joking? If you weren’t so deeply in love, how could you let Jennifer have her way all the time and believe everything she says? And today, you came to me because of your mom’s poisoning. If I’m not mistaken, Jennifer probably gave you the evidence. So, in the end, you chose to trust her and confront me. You said I didn’t defend myself, but how am I supposed to? You’d rather put your faith in that unreliable childhood friend, someone who left you when your legs were injured and your eyesight was gone, than trust me, your wife, whose name is next to yours. Easton, when you eventually discover the truth, everything you’ve done regarding your mom will cause you immense pain. And also, over the years, Jennifer has been insulting me this way. No matter how close you two are, I don’t want to witness it. Go back and tell her to stop sending me messages and photos like that. I’ve saved all the screenshots, and if she sends more, I’ll make them public.”

Easton was irritated. He tugged at his tie, his gaze growing more intense. Natalie didn’t believe him. He didn’t know Jennifer would be so shameless. She edited a picture to make it look like they were together and sent it to Natalie. He said in a hoarse voice, “I’m here just to confirm things, and I’ll try to trust you…”

“No need. What nonsense you’re saying! Try to trust me? That’s unnecessary. Since the day I left, I no longer need your trust. I don’t love or care anymore. Whoever you are has nothing to do with me,” added Natalie.

Natalie stood up and said to the chef, “Leo, could you please send my breakfast to my room? I don’t want to eat here anymore. No wasabi, because I’m slightly allergic. And could you make the portion of the seafood noodles a bit smaller, please?”

Leo smiled and said, “Sure thing, Ms. Shawn.”

Natalie stood up and walked away, completely ignoring Easton.

Easton sat quietly where he was, not bothering Natalie at all. Natalie felt down today because she couldn’t get a divorce. She had breakfast in the room with James and Valerie. James knew Easton had followed her here and didn’t want a divorce. James couldn’t sit still any longer. Watching the two girls eat happily, he found an excuse to leave. With delicious food in front of her, Natalie didn’t notice what James was up to.

Natalie looked at Valerie and asked, “Valerie, can you guess when I’ll finally be divorced?”

Valerie gazed at her silently and said, “You two are destined to be together.”

Natalie laughed in disbelief and grabbed lobsters to eat. She said, “Previously you said I was destined to be with Maurice. Just a few days ago, you called it a toxic relationship, and now it’s destiny?”

Valerie was curious too. She thought for a moment, glanced at Natalie, and was puzzled. Clearly, it had been a toxic relationship. It suddenly became a perfect match.

“That’s strange,” muttered Valerie, looking thoughtful. “Maybe I misjudged it.”

Natalie couldn’t hear what she was mumbling about and kept eating. She thought, “Why didn’t I reincarnate before the marriage instead of just before the divorce?” Had she known that divorce would be this difficult, she should have simply signed one of those divorce agreements Easton offered her countless times and left.

Valerie was staring at Natalie with curiosity. “Natalie, I just can’t see through you anymore.”

Natalie was startled, her body going rigid. “What… what do you mean?”

Valerie’s piercing gaze was intensely serious as she looked at her. “It’s so strange. Suddenly there’s a golden glow around you, and it’s protecting you. Your destiny is changing. What’s happening?” said Valerie.

Natalie was speechless. She had an urge to escape. Golden glow?! She couldn’t see it herself.

“Haha, maybe it’s because my company’s been doing well lately. With more money, I just naturally start to shine,” Natalie said as she took a big bite of lobster. It was delicious. Natalie thought, "Wow! Wow! Wow! I feel like crying! I’m so happy, and it’s great to be alive!"

“Natalie, you’re full of good karma. You must’ve done lots of good deeds in your previous life,” Valerie said happily, looking at her.

Natalie felt uneasy under her gaze. “Of course, I’m a kind–hearted little princess,” Natalie said proudly, her big eyes looking at the ceiling.

Valerie looked at her narcissistic expression. “Yes, you’re a princess. Hurry up and eat. We’ll go out. You wanted to enjoy this place for three days? James agreed to accompany you, though he’s usually super busy flying everywhere. It’s rare for him to take time out just for you.”

Natalie thought, "In this new life, the dream awakens, and life passes by like smoke in the breeze. Once more, I seek the past path and move forward with no regrets. Natalie, I hope for this life without regrets, smiling as the winds and clouds rise again.”

Valerie made a gesture above her head and smiled at her. Natalie’s eyes filled with grateful tears. “Yes, big brother loves me the most, boohoo… His love for me is like the Mighty River, never–ending…”

She decided to eat more to put on some weight and attract a cute young guy.

Valerie was speechless. That compliment was out of this world. She smiled, raising her eyebrows softly, her face gentle and radiant like a blooming flower.

James found Easton, who still sat idly in the restaurant. The morning light spilled on him, but its slight warmth couldn’t melt his cold demeanor. Noticing someone sitting across from him, Easton withdrew his gaze and looked at James. His eyebrows subtly moved, and his posture was upright and confident. Compared to Easton, James seemed more gentle and refined.

James spoke first, “Easton, you used to be Natalie’s true love, but she doesn’t love you anymore. Let bygones be bygones. You both should start new lives. I hope you can initiate the divorce and stop hurting Natalie.”

Easton’s deep eyes narrowed slightly. James’ words felt like a sharp knife piercing his heart. Everyone was urging him to divorce Natalie.

“Who are you to her?” Easton asked coldly.

James answered, “I’m her eldest brother. She’s the little princess of our family. A few years ago, she liked you, and the Simpsons are her biological parents. Even if she was mistreated, all I could do as her brother was watch. Now that she’s given up and come back to me, her big brother, I’m not going to let anyone mistreat her, including you, Easton.”

“Sorry,” Easton didn’t know what else to say. Right now, he felt like such a jerk. Natalie had loved him for many years. He always thought she was immature and constantly in conflict with Jennifer. In reality, Jennifer had been harming her in a different way all along.

James said, “Natalie doesn’t need your apology. She needs you to divorce her and stay away from her. At night, she has nightmares, calling out for Easton not to hurt her. She’s terrified of you, even in her dreams. Do you understand what I’m saying?” added James.

James stood up and walked away.

Easton punched the table, his knuckles splitting open and blood dripping down.
