Wendy smiled softly, her voice as gentle as always. “Okay! I’ll drink it. Go take a shower. You smell a bit off.”

Nick was taken aback; it had been days since he last saw Wendy and they were together. Her words surprised him a bit. He had sex in the villa these days and had one quickly before coming back without having time for a shower.

Nick thought, ‘Her sense of smell is quite sharp.’ But it didn’t stop him from longing for Wendy’s body. Seeing her return, he was in high spirits, only wanting to embrace her and make love with her.

A cold smile flashed in her eyes when Wendy watched Nick go to take a shower. “Nick, you’re finished. Don’t touch me anymore after this.” She also noticed the tonic on the table and poured it into the drink bottle she had prepared earlier.

Wendy thought, ‘I want to see who would get crazy first.’

Nick rinsed his mouth first because he couldn’t have any unexpected issues in his mouth – Wendy would find it gross. Secondly, his body couldn’t smell of sweat. Nick thought, ‘Jennifer’s mom is the best for she tolerates and accepts everything about me. But that is not the case with Wendy. I need to shower and soak my feet every day for she allows no foot odor and bad breath.’ He rinsed his mouth several times until he finally felt much fresher. He had eaten something strongly flavored tonight. Naturally, there was some odor in his mouth. He squeezed more toothpaste and brushed his teeth thoroughly. He showered and used cologne – didn’t miss a thing.

When he happily came out, Wendy had already taken her tonic, removed her face mask, and was lying down. Nick cheerfully ran over, got into bed, and hugged Wendy. Nick thought, ‘Her figure is still the best. Even after having five kids, she still keeps in great shape.’

Wendy suppressed her nausea and forced a weak smile.

“Wendy, I missed you,” Nick said excitedly and leaned in closer.

Wendy turned away in disgust. Over the past few days, she had personally witnessed him with that woman outside. He was living more comfortably than at home. That woman took excellent care of him. They shamelessly enjoyed intimacy at home, cooked meals, shopped together, and basked in their own little world. When they went shopping, Nick would alter his appearance – wearing a wig, glasses, and a mask. He normally doesn’t wear glasses. He would don casual clothes he never wore usually and transformed into someone else entirely. No wonder she never realized his betrayal.

“So, what did you get up to while I was away? Share some stories with me,” Wendy said nonchalantly, her smile frosty.

Nick, as usual, had a ready response. “It is exhausting to handle both the company and home together,” he said. He was indeed rushing home, but not to this home – but to his other one outside.

“You must be tiring, right?” Wendy pretended to be concerned.

Nick shook his head. “For our family’s happiness and wonderful future, it’s worthwhile no matter how tiring it is.”

Wendy looked at him with deeper meaning; his words sounded nice, but it was probably for his own future. Living off her all these years had really turned Nick into a wealthy, respectable figure.

Nick tried to rekindle his passion with Wendy. Awkwardly, it wasn’t performing like before.

Nick thought, ‘I am clearly eager, but why have I suddenly become unable?’ He was anxious and looked at beautiful Wendy who was emotional.

Seeing him hesitate, Wendy frowned and asked, “Honey, are you too tired? Maybe we should skip tonight. I’m tired too, having been on a flight for hours and working late last night.”

“I’m… tired too,” Nick said.

Wendy closed her eyes, with a slight, cold smile appearing on her lips.

Wendy thought, ‘I’ll see how you plan on regaining your pride afterward.’ She thought for a moment. “Nick, Mom called for money. Didn’t I tell you to give them 30 thousand dollars last month? They’ve got food, a maid to look after, and even custom clothes every season. Why do they suddenly need so much money?”

Wendy thought, ‘Those fools. The whole family are fools.’ Only now did she realize why those two old folks had such large expenses.
