Chapter 84

The familiar aura was enough for Natalie to know who it was without even looking—it was Easton.

Natalie glanced at him. He sat with an extraordinary, elegant, and noble demeanor.

Easton also looked at her, with his gaze deep and intense, as if it could draw you in like a vortex.

Natalie said, “Mr. Garcia, please don’t interrupt our meal.”

Natalie was bluntly telling him to leave. She was quite frustrated lately to see him almost every day.

Easton’s brows held a hint of anger, yet his tone remained calm and aloof. “Natalie, let me remind you once more—you’re still my wife.”

His deep, alluring voice carried a sharp chill.

Natalie felt like she was about to lose it. In the past, he had thrown stack after stack of divorce papers in front of her. She foolishly refused to divorce, which only led to more harm from him and Jennifer. But now, he was using the fact that they were not divorced to pester her.

“Mr. Garcia, I don’t want to argue about this anymore. I’ve already signed the divorce papers, and we are divorced. We’ve talked about this enough; I don’t want to bring it up again,” Natalie said.

“I only acknowledge the divorce papers I signed, and I’ll never return to the Garcia family, nor to the Simpson family,” Natalie said.

Natalie thought, ‘Why doesn’t he understand? Why do they always say I am playing hard to get? Have I been playing hard to get lately?’

“And also, Mr. Garcia, I have my own personal life, so please stop bothering me every single day,” she added.

Easton was taken aback as he vaguely recalled having told her something similar in the past. Back then, Jennifer wasn’t feeling well and needed company. Besides, he was too busy working tirelessly. Natalie kept urging him to go home. When they met, he just snapped at Natalie like that.

Now those words were directed at him, igniting a sudden and unexplained anger.

Seeing she was serious, Easton said with uncontrollable anger in his blue eyes, “Natalie, my patience has its limits.”

Natalie had been in love with him for several years. He was accustomed to her meticulous care. Now she suddenly took all her love away, which made him feel very uncomfortable.

“Easton, my patience is also limited. In the past, I treated you like my husband. But now that you’re divorced, get as far away as possible. The person you love is Jennifer,” said Natalie.

James couldn’t contain his anger, feeling that Easton was bullying Natalie because she had no one to protect her.

James looked at Easton coldly, with an air of both loneliness and arrogance.

Easton’s lips were tightly pressed together. He had noticed their interaction just now.

Easton thought, ‘Such interactions are only done between people who are close. The man in front of me had known Natalie for a long time.’

They had a strong mutual understanding, which gave him a significant sense of unease.

“Who are you?” His alluring voice carried a hint of coldness.

Natalie didn’t wait for James to speak and said, “He’s my family. Mr. Garcia, please show some leniency. I won’t argue with you over Jennifer anymore, nor will I bother you every day.”

“I was immature before, and often clashing with Jennifer. Didn’t you always find me annoying and mean? I’m just a girl from an impoverished town who doesn’t match up to you,” added Natalie.

“Natalie…” Easton frowned, surprised that she would put herself down like that.

Easton suddenly recalled that every time Natalie acted up, the Simpson family would use these words to demean her.

Natalie calmly stated, “Mr. Garcia, you have used the most cruel methods to humiliate me and the harshest words to insult me over the past year. Isn’t that enough? Let’s stop this here. I won’t bother you anymore.”

As Natalie spoke, tears started to flow. She thought her heart wouldn’t ache anymore, but thinking about the past still hurt.

Easton frowned deeply. He realized he had been too harsh before. But when she fought back, Jennifer’s true colors started to show. He didn’t know who was really lying, Jennifer or Natalie.

He was speechless.

Natalie got up and said, “Brother, let’s go.”

James gave Easton a sharp glance and left with Natalie.

Easton sat quietly, with his outstanding posture resembling an emotionless statue.

At that moment, Xavier rushed in, saying, “Mr. Garcia, the chairman is back.”

As soon as Easton heard the news, his eyes flickered with a cold light.

“Where is he?” he asked coolly, with his voice low and commanding.

Xavier whispered, “He’s back at the family house and wants you to go there now.”

Easton suddenly stood up, noticing the slice of pizza Natalie hadn’t finished. Did she really like this flavor?

“Grab a pizza like this, and have someone keep a close watch on Natalie’s every move, especially when Jennifer is seeking her out. Be sure not to miss anything,” he said.

“Got it, Mr. Garcia,” Xavier promptly went to execute the orders.

Easton looked out of the window, with his eyes as deep and unfathomable as the dusk itself.

Jennifer and her family had just finished dinner when the doorbell rang.

Jennifer knew it was Jasmine. She ran joyfully to answer the door.

Sure enough, it was Jasmine outside the door.

“Come on in, Jasmine,” Jennifer turned and called out. “Mom, big brother, Jasmine is here!”

Wendy was drinking coffee in the living room when she heard Jasmine’s name, and her expression slightly darkened.

Wendy thought, ‘Is Jason still involved with Jasmine?’

Jason heard that Jasmine had arrived and happily rushed downstairs. He stopped right in front of her, admiring her beautiful face with a gentle smile.

“Jasmine, you’re here. Come in,” said Jason.

Jasmine walked in cheerfully.

Seeing Wendy there too, she smiled and walked over. “Hello, Wendy!”

She placed the makeup she brought in front of Wendy and said with a polite smile, “Wendy, this is a little gift for you.”

Wendy gave her a cursory glance. Since she came over so late, she must have something to discuss. “Thank you, Jasmine.” Jasmine was a little surprised. Wendy wasn’t as warm today. Normally, when she came over to hang out with Jennifer, Wendy was always very enthusiastic.

She smiled shyly and said, “Wendy, Jason, I came today because I have something to tell you.”

Wendy suddenly had a bad feeling.

Jason was watching her smallest expressions and thought, ‘Is Jasmine agreeing to marry me?’

He was excited and said, “Jasmine, go ahead, and tell us.”

Jasmine gently touched her stomach and looked at Jason. “Jason, do you remember what happened at the hotel two months ago? I’m now pregnant.”

“I’ve been a bit careless, and only realized that I’m pregnant these past few days. This is the check-up from the hospital today.”

Jason was so excited that he almost cried. He had liked Jasmine for a long time and always wanted to marry her and start a family. He didn’t like the other woman he grew up with.

But six months ago, Natalie teamed up with that other woman to ruin his first experience. He always felt guilty towards Jasmine, but now that she was expecting his child, he could finally marry her.

Wendy was stunned. Her top choice for a daughter-in-law was Zoe, but after what happened six months ago, Zoe disappeared. Because of that incident, Jason despised both Zoe and Natalie even more.

Jasmine was a bit of a rebel when she was at school, never attending school properly even for a day. She was always going to bars and clubs. And Jason actually liked a girl like her?
