Chapter 74

Listening to his calm yet serious voice, Natalie slowly leaned back in her chair. โ€œMr. Spencer, you donโ€™t need to know how I found out about it. You just need to trust me. Of course, you could also choose not to believe me.โ€

Natalieโ€™s eyes flashed with anger as she saw it was indeed Easton.

Jonathan Hickman, one of the bodyguards, said, โ€œMrs. Garcia, Mr. Garcia has asked you to get in the car. It has been four months since you last came home, and he says that since youโ€™ve had your fun, itโ€™s time to go back.โ€

Natalie found the address sarcastic. โ€œJonathan, didnโ€™t you use to call me Ms. Shawn? Stick to that. This new address disgusts me.โ€

With his head lowered, Jonathan didnโ€™t dare speak, keeping his arm extended toward the car to invite Natalie in.

Natalie knew he was just following orders, so she didnโ€™t make things difficult for him. She said, โ€œGo tell Easton that weโ€™re already divorced. Tell him to stay as far away from me as possible.โ€

The car window slowly lowered, revealing Eastonโ€™s handsome face. His deep-set eyes locked onto Natalie as he said in an emotionless voice, โ€œGet in the car. Weโ€™re going home.โ€

Furious, Natalie snorted and then bellowed, โ€œEaston, canโ€™t you afford the divorce fees? Do you need me to pay them for you?โ€

Eastonโ€™s gaze grew more intense. โ€œNatalie, get in the car. Iโ€™m not repeating myself.โ€

Natalie replied, โ€œI donโ€™t want to waste words with you either. Iโ€™m not going home with you. At Jenniferโ€™s birthday party, you forced me to leave. And now you want me to go back with you? Easton, are you being possessed?

โ€œOr has your brain turned to mush, making you forget all the things youโ€™ve done?

โ€œYou tore me apart, left me shattered, and now you want to take me back. What do you think I am? Something you can summon and dismiss at will?โ€

Easton was silent for a while, staring at her cold eyes before finally speaking. โ€œI wrongly accused you that night. You did nothing wrong, so thereโ€™s no need for a divorce.โ€

Natalie gritted her teeth in anger, wanting to beat Easton, a jerk in her mind, senseless.

Natalie let out a bitter laugh, her face etched with sorrow. She recalled how he had pushed her off the building without hesitation. Even now, the memory filled her with fear. She could never live under the same roof as him again.

Natalie sneered, โ€œEaston, youโ€™ve been having an affair with Jennifer all this time. And now you expect me to go back and be your unpaid maid?โ€

The thought of everything he had done in the past made her heart twist with pain.

Easton frowned slightly and replied in an indifferent tone, โ€œI never considered it that way. I treated you like that because you made so many mistakesโ€ฆโ€

โ€œShut up! I never did anything wrong. Itโ€™s you and that vile woman, and those idiots in the Simpson family, who wronged me. Do you think your pathetic apology can erase the years of pain Iโ€™ve suffered?โ€ Natalie said sternly.

She lowered her gaze. The suffering from her past life and this one weighed heavily on her, leaving her exhausted. All she wanted now was to sever ties with Easton. She said slowly, โ€œEaston, youโ€™ve asked for a divorce countless times. I agreed. So why canโ€™t you just let me go?โ€
