Natalie chuckled coldly. “Our connection has been broken for a long time. Sue me; I’ll pay whatever the court decides. That’s the only support I can offer. You never cared for me, so why expect my help? You know how I get abandoned.”

Nick’s face went pale as he wondered when Natalie learned the truth. Years ago, when Camellia tried to suffocate Natalie, Nick hesitated to help. He simply abandoned her.

He pursed his lips, unwilling to say more; the more he spoke, the more he revealed.

Natalie didn’t let him speak, instead storming out of the lounge.

Nick’s face darkened with fury. He shouted, “Heartless little brat! I should have ended you then to save myself from your bitterness. Isn’t it just about money? You have it; why not share?”

As Natalie reached the door, she turned back, saying, “You’ve tried to kill me before; you just didn’t succeed. You wanted to end my life but couldn’t bear the pain of knowing I was your blood, so you discarded me instead.

“Do you know why I grew up with my current family? It’s because Lambert saw you abandon me. He took me in and raised me. Considering your limited abilities, do you really think you could have found me?

“I’ve always known how I was cast aside, but I endured and returned home hoping for some family love. When you plotted against me, I stayed quiet.

“Easton had a horrible accident, leaving him blind and crippled, and Jennifer, disgusted by him, ran away. I married Easton to keep your failing company afloat a bit longer.

“Isn’t that enough for you? What did you all do to me? You’ve tormented me, trying to erase my existence.

“But you and Jennifer are remarkable; you hired a woman to kill Vance. As Vance’s real Dad, don’t you fear? Your blood flows in his veins, yet you harmed him.

“Retribution is coming for you. Look at your eyes; your lungs are starting to fail.

“Instead of scheming to steal from others, maybe you should think about treating your sickness. This chronic issue will only get worse, leaving you bedridden. I can’t imagine that, after a stroke, your four sons – and the Jennifer you spoil – will care for you.”

Nick roared in anger, eyes wide. “You dare curse me to death?”

Natalie ignored him and told the bodyguards to escort him out.

With Wendy successfully keeping the company afloat, Natalie felt no need to be polite.

Wendy was her Mom; she had endured enough.

Nick stood shocked as he watched Natalie leave, he and Vance being quickly kicked out.

Fuming, Nick yelled, “Vance, I brought you here to make Natalie change her mind. Why are you so quiet?”

Vance chuckled. “Why would she listen to you? If she ignores your words, what makes you think she would listen to mine? I earn little, and my power is weak.”

Vance fixed a sharp gaze on Nick. “By the way, I’m curious about what Natalie just said. Why do you pick Jennifer over your five kids?”

Vance thought, ‘That fraud has been lying to everyone from the start.’

Nick’s gaze faltered; he couldn’t tell Vance that Jennifer was also his daughter. If Wendy found out, he would lose everything.

With Wendy’s fierce nature, she would rather destroy him than let him escape. Nick’s reputation was already too damaged to bear more trouble.

Nick’s expression turned cold. “You also care about Jennifer. I can’t lose her, she’s the daughter I raised. You five siblings are grown now; you’re not as sensitive as Jennifer.”

Vance smiled wryly. “You say you don’t want us, but you’re still my Dad…”

Nick, aware of his flaws, didn’t reply further. He frowned. “Let’s go home for now. We can call your grandma to stir up trouble; maybe Natalie will give us the money.”

Vance, surprised Nick hadn’t given up, scoffed. “There’s no one more shameless than you. You’ve never cared for Natalie, but still want to seize her company?”

Nick looked at him, brows furrowed. “Vance, you’ve changed; weren’t you the one who hated Natalie most? Wouldn’t you have taken everything from her to give it to Jennifer? Jennifer grew up with you as your sister; Natalie is a stranger.”

Vance listened to Nick’s shameless chatter with a smirk. “I see that Jennifer is the only one who matters to you, regardless of blood ties. Once the estrangement agreement is signed, that will be it for us. We hope that when your health worsens, dear Jennifer will care for you.”

Nick glared at Vance. “You insolent boy! What do you mean by that? I rejected you because I couldn’t afford to support you anymore. You’re all grown now, living your own lives. Learn to forgive!”

Vance looked at Nick with disdain. “Nick, you will not only regret your choices, but you’ll also face consequences. You abandoned my mom and us, and I hope you can handle what comes next."

With that, Vance turned and left.

Nick seethed, tightening his chest with frustration. He took a deep breath, puzzled by Natalie’s claim of his chronic illness, thinking her words didn’t make sense.

He wondered, ‘What illness can I have? Aside from my high blood pressure… No, can I be at risk for Alzheimer’s? Damn it, I’m too young for that! I need to take better care of my health!’

Reflecting on today’s pointless effort, Nick wondered how he had ended up with nothing, despite being so careful.

That poor girl from the countryside, Natalie, had become the richest of them all.

In his mind, Nick plotted how to prevent Natalie from succeeding. Tomorrow, he’d bring in Brenda to stir up trouble.

However, with Natalie having evidence, any loud outcry was pointless; he needed to be sneaky.

Nick picked up his phone and dialed Jennifer’s number.

“Hello, Dad?” Jennifer said.

Nick began, “Jennifer, Natalie won’t give any money. Do you have any ideas?”
