Easton looked at Jennifer with a calm gaze, nodding slightly. “Alright. You’re my lifesaver, so I’ll grant you this favor. If you want that land, it’s yours.”

Jennifer was shocked that Easton agreed so quickly, thinking, “He deliberately reminded me that he was giving me this favor because I once saved his life.”

But maybe Easton still cares for me, yet keeps his distance to protect me from being labeled a homewrecker.

Jennifer smiled gently, her eyes glistening with tears. “Easton, thank you. I want to grow as well and stand by your side. Then no one will slander us anymore.”

Jennifer thought, "How could someone as useless as Natalie deserve Easton! I won’t let her have even what I’ve deserted." Easton flashed a mysterious smile and went to his seat with Xavier, noticing Declan sitting beside him.

Declan greeted with a smile, “Mr. Garcia, are you here to buy the land too?”

Easton frowned slightly at Declan’s distant attitude, thinking, “Since that night, I haven’t seen Declan. But now, I feel he has somehow changed.”

“Mr. Garcia, I heard you’re getting a divorce from Natalie. When would it be done? Jennifer likes you a lot. Haven’t you always wanted to marry her?” Declan said with a smile.

Easton furrowed his brows, a clear look of hostility in his eyes as he thought, “The condition of my words of marrying Jennifer was that she saved me from that fire, but she didn’t. It was Natalie who, during that fire and later in the accident when I lost the ability to walk and became blind, was the only woman who saved me. But I don’t understand. Lambert seemed to dislike me, yet he came to my office to tell me that Natalie was the one who saved me from the fire years ago. If Lambert wanted us to get a divorce, wouldn’t he hide this truth? But he told me anyway. And what does Vernon know? Why did he insist on me marrying Natalie? Lambert and Vernon don’t seem to know each other."

Easton replied coldly, “This is a matter between my wife and me. It doesn’t concern you.”

Declan sneered, “Easton, do you want to have your cake and eat it too? Holding onto Natalie while sticking to Jennifer at the same time, you think the Garcia family will remain unshakable as the richest in Shagrity? If the affair about Jennifer being your mistress gets out, Mr. Garcia, your stock will plunge.”

Declan thought, "I hope this wretched couple leaves Natalie alone as quickly as possible. Natalie is still young and pretty to find a better man. How foolish I was to have trusted Jennifer!"

Easton eyed Declan coldly, thinking, “He does change from before, and his words sound quite despising me."

“Jennifer is your sister, and you’re not worrying, so why should I be?” Easton smiled so meaningfully that it left Declan puzzled.

Declan thought, “Before, Easton was willing to do anything for Jennifer. Just now, he gave up the land in the western suburb for her. Why won’t he divorce Natalie and marry Jennifer? Easton has a lonely childhood, with no one to care for him except his grandparents. Jennifer only approaches him because he is the head of the Garcia family. But Natalie married Easton willingly because she liked him. However, Easton never takes Natalie seriously. No wonder Natalie insists on a divorce. It’s both sad and ridiculous that Jennifer at her birthday party orchestrated a scheme to frame Natalie, and everyone sided with Jennifer. They were plotting behind the scenes to end Natalie’s life."

Declan felt nearly heartbroken as he reflected on Natalie’s selfless love and how she had suffered. He suddenly missed Natalie’s tender care when he was in the hospital.

“Declan, what are you talking about?” Just then, Jennifer walked over and sat next to Declan.

Declan smiled and looked at her. “I was asking when Easton is going to marry you.”

Hearing this, Jennifer blushed. “Declan, what are you talking about? Easton and Natalie haven’t divorced yet. Saying things like this will make people gossip.”

Jennifer thought, "I don’t want to become the notorious homewrecker."

Declan squinted and smiled, revealing no emotion in his eyes. His tone was indulgent as always. “What are you afraid of? Silly girl, with Mr. Garcia’s affection, who dares to gossip about you?”

Declan thought, "Back then, Jennifer dismissed Easton. Now, watching him succeed, she regrets it. I bet she doesn’t care to be a homewrecker as long as she can win Easton back. However, he likes that type, doesn’t he?"

“Declan,” Jennifer called softly. She furrowed her brows slightly and scrutinized him, thinking, “He still dotes on me as usual, yet there’s something odd I couldn’t place!"

Just then, Murray showed up, clad in his favorite leather jacket and dressed entirely in black, which made him look rebellious and rakish.

With the host’s arrival, the auction kicked off. Murray knew Natalie wouldn’t be coming today and was staying home for an IV drip. Before the auction began, Murray shot a cold glance at Jennifer.

Alfred bought that plot of land for 15 million dollars, and the auction started at the same price. After Murray announced the starting bid, 10 minutes later, Jennifer snagged the land for 120 million dollars, and it was all thanks to Easton. When the bidding reached 75 million, he suddenly raised his paddle. With Easton bidding, everyone knew his business acumen and started raising their paddles to bid too. Jennifer paused, tilting her head in confusion as she looked at Easton.

Easton calmly explained, “Sorry, Jennifer. It was purely out of habit when I raised my paddle earlier."

Jennifer was furious and ended up winning the bid for 120 million dollars. However, as her budget was 135 million dollars, Jennifer was still thrilled about the transaction.

As Easton and Declan left together and reached the parking lot, Declan glared at Easton and questioned, “Easton, why won’t you get a divorce?”

Easton frowned, a hint of anger appearing in his eyes. “Declan, we already told you, that’s between my wife and me. Mind your own business and keep out of ours."

Declan laughed bitterly. “But Easton, Natalie wants to divorce you. When she loved you, you didn’t see her. You were the one who wanted the divorce, and now you’re the one who won’t go through with it.”

“You know what, Easton? You don’t love anyone; you enjoy Natalie’s dedication while tangled up with Jennifer. You’re just unwilling to see Natalie truly leave you, just like you couldn’t accept Jennifer deserted you when your accident left you paralyzed and blind. After all, you only love yourself.”
