Shocked, Jennifer asked, “Declan, why did Mom cut ties with you?”

Declan replied, “Because I don’t make any money–I just spend. I’m useless. Mom can’t give me more money right now because of problems with her business. She didn’t have any extra money when I asked her for it this morning. And I said some harsh words. I said you need 300 thousand dollars a month for living expenses because you’re acting to make sure you aren’t bullied on set. We can’t let our little princess suffer, no matter what. Jennifer, I fought with Mom because of you, and now she’s cut ties with me. I think she wants to avoid burdening us with huge debts. The company’s situation is getting worse.”

Jennifer frowned, noting that Wendy’s company was now in turmoil. Now, it was the perfect time for an acquisition.

“Declan, I invested all of my money; I’ll pay you back when I turn a profit, OK? I know you care about me the most.”

“Yes, I care about you the most, Jennifer, but I don’t have any money now. What are we going to do?” Declan wondered, ‘So, is she planning not to give the money back?‘

“Declan, our family is currently having financial difficulties now, why don’t you find a job? You spend millions every month on racing and motorbikes; it’s really unaffordable without money.”

Declan was shocked, only then remembering that it was Jennifer who had suggested he and Jason go car racing. Wendy disagreed back then, saying racing was dangerous and life-threatening. But Jennifer said then, “Mom, you don’t understand. Men who ride motorbikes are the coolest. My two brothers are racers. Men in our family are just incredibly cool.” But he and everyone else were really excited because both their parents supported their dream. Only now did Declan realize that Jennifer might have been hoping they’d have an accident and die. Jason did have an accident and almost died.

Declan deliberately relaxed his tone, saying, “Jennifer, I’m in a bit of a bind here. You’ve already taken 12 million dollars in my name. Now that I’m in trouble, you must help me out.”

Jennifer chuckled. “Declan, how about I have my assistant transfer you 30 thousand dollars first?”

Declan was taken aback. “Jennifer, what can I do with just 30 thousand dollars? I always spoil you, and this is how you repay me?”

Jennifer started fishing for sympathy. “Declan, Easton used to give me pocket money every month, but then Natalie found out. She threatened Easton, so now he doesn’t give me money anymore. I’m broke now too, Declan. Natalie just can’t stand to see me happy.”

When Declan heard this, tears filled his eyes. He had always believed Jennifer’s words and would immediately start retaliating against Natalie, scolding her without looking into whether it was true or not. He really was a fool. His stupidity might get him killed someday if he didn’t smart up. His face turned grim, eyes filled with frost. “Jennifer, don’t worry. I’ll take care of her for you. How can a bumpkin from an impoverished town compare to someone as precious as you?”

“Declan, Natalie may be spiteful, but you can’t be too cruel to her. Vance was too cruel last time and was retaliated against by Natalie. By the way, I haven’t heard from Vance in a while. I wonder if something has happened to him. Natalie is the only person he could have as an enemy. Declan, I’m really worried about Vance. I haven’t been able to reach him for days.”

Declan remembered his mom’s words and asked, “Jennifer, I heard a bit about what happened at the wedding. Vance probably has gone to his wife. I’ll go check with Natalie in a bit. Declan, I really feel bad for Vance. His wedding was ruined by Natalie and Tiana. Natalie can’t stand to see the Simpson family doing well, so she has tried everything she can to hurt Jason and Vance.”

“Alright, Jennifer, wait for my good news. I’ll go find Vance. I know you care a lot about him. He has always cared about you above all else. If something happened to him, you’d lose someone who really cares about you.”

After saying that, Declan hung up the phone.

Jennifer on the set sensed something off with Declan’s tone, which was laced with sarcasm. She glanced around and, seeing no one nearby, decided to call Lucy.

“Ms. Simpson,” Lucy said.

With a smug smile, Jennifer said, “Lucy, get the money ready. It’s time to buy Wendy’s company. Transfer 70 million dollars to her within ten days. Then, we will purchase her company at a lower price and get back the clients we took away. The company will profit greatly within a year.”

Exactly, the partners who ended their contracts with Wendy before were taken back by Jennifer using another company. Now, as long as she bought Wendy’s company under this one, all those partnerships would be hers. Everything Wendy worked hard for was taken away by her at the lowest cost possible. She already contacted Monica. Now that Vance was dead, all she needed to do was figure out a way to frame Natalie, and then she’d be finished too.

While working with Colin, Jennifer secured a few more investments. Since Easton didn’t help her, she didn’t expect anything from that fool. But Easton had to be on her side.

Lucy said, “Ms. Simpson, everything is ready on my end.”

Jennifer said, “Alright, you go negotiate with her. Her company was worth billions of dollars. We’ll buy it at 350 million dollars. Without a doubt, she will consent to sell. The money from selling her building isn’t enough to cover the company’s losses. She wouldn’t know that all would end up in my hands. Thanks to that fool Wendy, we’ve made so much in such a short time.”

Lucy was thrilled. “Ms. Simpson, buying her company for 350 million dollars is practically an insult, but she can’t do much about it. That sum of money will ultimately still belong to you.”

Jennifer’s accomplishments each time fueled Lucy’s confidence and ambitions.

“Well, I’m filming on the island right now, but I’ll be back in a few days. In the meantime, you should talk to her,” Jennifer muttered.

Lucy responded, “Alright, Ms. Simpson. Don’t worry. I will take care of the company’s affairs.”

Jennifer said, “Yeah. That fool Declan is back. Give that beggar 30 thousand dollars and get rid of him.”

“Ms. Simpson, we need to speed up our plan. Wendy will soon find out, and if your brothers discover our plan, things with Wendy could become really tricky.”

Jennifer also felt something was off about Declan’s tone. What had happened to Jason and Vance should have rang an alarm to him. She kept framing Natalie, and now both Wendy and Easton didn’t trust her. But with Wendy’s personality, controlling her was tough. Lately, Nick had been acting like a lunatic.

Jennifer thought for a moment and said, “Lucy, Declan is useless other than making things difficult for Natalie. Find a chance to eliminate him so he doesn’t mess up my plans. He’s really stubborn.”

Lucy asked, “Ms. Simpson, what method would you suggest to get rid of him?”
